Northern Gateway Pipeline -- Deconstructing Propaganda

The following image is from an ad campaign being run by Enbridge. They intend on building a roughly 1200 kilometer pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia.

This project is called The Northern Gateway Pipeline which also coincides with the Keystone XL Pipeline project that is estimated to begin in the next few years, despite the hurdles.



The pipeline will end at the Douglas Channel some of BC's most pristine coastal waters.

See the disinformation they've presented? They'd like you to believe that this channel is wide open for these massive cargo containers to come to, so there's no danger of them spilling.

This is simply not the case as we see in the above graphic.

Wow great comparison. They certainly over simplified the topography of the area....like way over simplified. Almost like calling the grand canyon a speed bump.

I wonder if they were gonna mention this?

Of course they don't want you to see the actual place for what it is...
They wouldn't want nature to get in the way of profits!

It's really hard to believe but it happens on a daily basis.
This isn't the first time I've seen blatant propaganda like this.

Truly disgusting and at the same time, we buy their products.
So, the consumers drive the market that they sell in.

In other words, until we change our collective habits...
Expect propaganda pieces like this.

This is the truly sad reality about this project. It will endanger wildlife and the beautiful BC coast..

I agree with you, however there is no alternative that's ready to be used as a replacement.

You try going out today and using nothing that is made with oil, or petroleum derivitives. It's almost impossible.

Once the proper alternate source of non oil products is available, then we can stop using fossil fuels.
