Same situation applies to spousal abuse, although depending on the state some have much stricter domestic violence laws.

That's exactly my point, it is about condition, relation, and purpose. All of that is taken in to consideration in Western law, and in Islamic law. You can't just beat your wife because you felt like it, in both culture and law.

The thing I find odd is that people are quick to criticize Islam using this law/culture, but hypocritically refuse to criticize Western culture/law for permitting the same behavior/action...

Heard of divorce? Are you intentionally acting stupid or are you serious?

If the wife does not understands the actions of the husband then she can not only ask for divorce but also file assault charges.

In Islam when the woman says divorce, that is the first legal procedure of divorce completed. If she feels that the husband's actions are senseless and irrational then she can say divorce and the procedure of divorce starts from there. If she says three times, it is automatically divorce.

If the husband continues to touch her after divorce, it is a serious crime, because you can only touch a woman through marriage.

Is that before or after he has battered her and had sex with her? That is a question you should ask the millions of women who get battered, abused and get raped inside marriage or outside in the Western world, I wonder how would they respond to such a ridiculous question.

That being said, there are Islamic procedures that you're totally oblivious towards, that's exactly why you're looking at the situation through a Western perspective.

Marriage is seen as a contract in Islam, and in Western world, although in the Western world marriage has become a joke.

The contract is between a woman and a man, which gives them the freedom to interact in ways that an unmarried man and woman cannot do. Note - this is from an Islamic perspective.

Divorce means this contract has ended, when this contract ends, the there is no more freedom to interact between the two, if a husband touches the wife, she can charge the husband with attempted rape or assault.

In the end, I would like to know about the brutal sexual behavior which is being practiced in the West, I would like you to tell me why women are being tied up, tortured, and raped in front of the cameras and no one is being arrested?

i agree that marriage here has become a joke,but if giving the wife a slap with your hand or a rod is normal marriage to muslims,i prefer the wetestern joke marriages.

I don't believe penal code law is why Christians don't beat their wives. It's just flat out wrong...and it doesn't take a law for the vast majority to know it. It's morality...which, for most comes back to ..(drum roll) .. Faith.

We don't beat our spouses because our spirit changes to align with Christ. Jesus preached that when a man and woman marry they become "one flesh", not literally but in spirit, will and agreement. Hitting your spouse would be like beating yourself, totally pointless and the entire excersice of our spouse being "one flesh" with us makes them our equals. Islam does not follow Jesus, they follow Muhammad who permitted such things and a host of many other things that would make Jesus shoot lightning out of his eyes about.

Women should be revered in my opinion. Not put on a pedastel or anything like that, but they should be treated with kindness, and a gentle hand. To ever raise your hand to a woman (unless your defending yourself from immediate harm) is completely unacceptable, and makes you a pathetic excuse for a man.

It's amazing how so many of the "wife beaters" use their religion to justify these types of actions, and no it's not just Muslims.

nit pick? ask your sister or your mother If they think a assault and rape charge is "a nit pick" im all for freedom of religion BUT Islamic women do not have a choice in the matter. If they want to live like that then so be it. But its the choice that i believe in. and i know that other religions have made the same thing basically in the past. But you know what they changed.
