thats how life works .. nobody is above Karma lol

A guy get his expensive bike stolen
then founds it on Craiglist and make a offer to the thief

and this is how it goes

Nice Ending !

i just wonder who he was speaking to on the phone just before the police arrest him

I dont understand people .. i would NEVER steal anything from anyone
i would feel ashame of myself for a long time hope this thief will feel ashame about himself .. probably not

This is the thief that was caught

and his GF who escaped and ran aways

They both look the same .. untrustworthy faces
empty shells

Look at them and remember their faces
because soon they will belong in the PIT

Living in WA there is one thing you don't do...steal an expensive bike and try to hock it. Bikers here know their rides up and down, down to the shade of paint they or the bike manufacturers used. People love their bikes in the PNW.

Awesome!! More people need to be proactive in locating their stolen property like this guy was. Show thieves we are all sick of it!

The call the poilce first method is a very good idea. Best to get them rolling before you establish contact just incase things go south!

Theives will be theives...unfortunately not all will be apprehended.
But kudos to this guy who did all the hard work to get his bike back.

If it's not yours...why steal it? Get a job and work for the money!
It will always come back to haunt you regardless.

This happened to be a good way to find the culprit.
Craigslist is chock full of stolen goods, too.

Buyer beware.
Do your research!

This poor hipster was so starved of attention that when his bike got stolen he had go and make a video to get the attention he so richly deserves. He also got the police involved. A beta male at his best!

I would say a Alpha male as he drove from Portland and actually chased the guy down.

A Beta would just write it off and buy another bike...which would be probably stolen as well.

University Village was in the closing credits. Dollars to donuts the thief was a University of Washington student. It would be interesting to know more about how the owner managed to track the bike on Craig's List. The guy had to have been tenacious as hell. The bike could have gone anywhere.

This is the most ignorant thing I've read all week.
Owning a bicycle does not make you a "hipster". Do you have any idea how many people own bicycles, for various reasons? Does enjoying something like riding bike, running, swimming, put you into some kind of negative social class? And how is he a "beta male" for tracking down someone who stole his bike and then getting them charged with a felony? What would you have preferred he done? Act like a moron, beat the guy up in public, get arrested with a felony himself for assault? This guy handled the situation in the most responsible way possible, and he put a video of the situation on the internet to try to deter other people from stealing bikes.
Sorry for possibly violating T&C, but you're a # coward for talking trash on him.

Someone delete his post, it doesn't deserve to be on here.

There has been a HUGE increase in theft in WA. It's gotten to the point that after reporting any theft to the proper authorities, checking craigslist is the next step for most victims. In my neighborhood alone people have been stealing gas from cars on a weekly basis, across town peoples cars have been broken into on multiple occasions in a matter of days, etc. I live in a very nice neighborhood right across the street from a hospital and a school too, but crime in WA is seriously going off the deep end as of late.

ROFL
the irony of your statement and your sign off is wonderful...Simply beautiful in context and form. I almost have to wonder if you are brilliant in executing it, a genius at work perfecting an art form. kudos!

How can they lawfully arrest some one for that? How did the police know he stole it? For all we know he found a bike he liked on craigslist, looked up all the custom parts and told the cops that the man stole it from him. They arrested him with no evidence.

What if it was not stolen?

(It probably was but what if?)
