I don't understand why your having a censorship issue.

I found this today which is far superior to the one you made (I'm sure you will agree), and is being promoted by New Scientist.
360 Mars

Sorry, you seem legit... anyone else might be accused of attention seeking for the hard work they had done.

That one looks pretty good, but why the color change?
Comparing with the OP's Color image one, this one seems to lack a lot of color

Maybe it has something to do with distributing copyrighted material. That would explain the Torrent sites.

I'm pretty sure that any Nasa video/still image is not copyrighted.

I might be missing something but by reading the guidelines in the following links, all points out that all NASA Images are free to use for non-commercial usage (with some restrictions around the logo):

Well everything's been covered by other responders regarding the censorship issue and what might be going on with the missing data.

What I will say is that the only possible anomaly I see is the "road". That's almost a 90 degree turn. For some object to roll down a slope and make that kind of turn naturally would be rare. The other things you point out - clearly the "pac man" rock is two rocks, the weathering rock looks like just that, but I'm not a geologist. Show me a pyramid and then you have my attention!

Sorry but that one is not superior what so ever. As far as I can see the resolution is much much lower.

Res is much lower and some of the color blotches are meant to block things from being seen...

That and....its virtual.
To prove, the sun should be bigger, not too much but enough to make it significant and there are shadows in spots that don't have any correlation to real objects. If you point the camera north but a small bit eastward, then look at the ground, you'll notice the shadow to the right that has no hills to create them.

It may be based on a real 360 degrees rotation, but its not the real thing nonetheless.

Sorry to point that out but OP's is much better.

I don't know, but yours is really awesome!
I do have to wonder why it was not just a "Thanks but we got this" reply, and gave you faux links and tried to block you...that garners suspicion!

At any rate, I had to chuckle at this:

Sorry, this GigaPan has no location information.

Have you tried this site?

www.webfilehost.com...

The file type is not allowed. But it's an image.

Uploading a 350 MB .BMP. It looks like it's working. Will post link.

350Mb !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you wonder why you are having problems..........please come on. End of thread, problem found.

Try Rapidshare or Depositfiles. If they don't allow file uploads of that type you might have to ZIP or RAR it first.

Also, isn't PNG a much better image format than BMP?

They're called "rocks". You'll find them in your garden too.

Take a look, I'm not lying.

That comes to show how inferior that panorama is comparing with the one posted by the OP. I know what rocks are those, they are really rock like if you check the OP's panorama.

And yes, rocks can take interesting shapes.
I found one that I wish to share. I'll name it "The Helmet".

That's so weird and frustrating that your having these problems. Thanks for doing what you have done, it so cool!

Were you able to see images where the white boxes are, before they disappeared?

I was looking up close at high res and saw this and snipped it. What do you suppose that round shiny thing on the horizon is? It looks like a domed observatory.

Look in the air above the round shape. I know it could be dust on the lens, but see the three objects? You'll have to go to the gigapan image and zoom in.

You think it could be the road and other earthlike notations? That said you may have fallen into the Government and Transit Uniforms section of the patriot act. This act is far reaching, and even collectors of 100 year old locks and keys once used in rail transit are uable to sell their collections.

It may seem like you may not apply, but a look at the legislation may help clarify.

Well there doesn't seem to be any censorship issue with this thread, OP.

The thing is, if you had information, either knowingly or unknowingly that could comprimise anyone at the top or national/global security and these people didn't want that to happen, you would not be posting right now, in fact you'd either be in police custody because some women/bloke is all of a sudden making accusations about you or you'd be dead. Simple as that.
