One of two officers shot during an incident on Fidelity Street in College Station has died, according to several sources.

The incident appears to have unfolded about 12:15 p.m. at a house in the historical district of the city close to George Bush Drive. The Eagle's police scanner early on picked up dispatchers saying that two officers were wounded. Initial reports state one was a constable.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect was in custody; it wasn't clear if gunfire was exchanged. The person apparently was barricaded in a home for a short period.

Okay people, I know some of you are going to think I'm off my meds (never been prescribed any), or are drinking too much Kool Aide but I'm really starting to think that one of the alphabet agencies are behind all the recent shootings. What is this, 3 in 5 weeks now?

It would make sense for TPTB to incite fear and further their anti-second amendment agenda by having operatives put in place to commit these acts. Think about it, when they are arrested, which they always are and are never killed by law enforcement while in the act, they go through the legal act and show of a trial and are then locked away in prison to never be heard from again. How do we know that they aren't given new identities and released by TPTB with a nice pat on the back and pay for a job well done? What proof do we have that they are actually in prison? Once the media hype is over and a new distraction snags our attention we all but forget about the incident.

As I said, it would definately, and always does feed the anti-gun agenda and I think that is the goal of our government, especially the present administration.

It is going to be quite interesting to see who the suspect is in this incident.

IF we see another college-educated psychology student... look out. But, it could also be another loony white-supremist or scumbag who decided he... or she, meh... has had enough and went bonkers.

is that an error on the medias part and he had a semi automatic or did he have an honest to god full auto weapon?...if it was a fully automatic im gonna have to predict that his weapons were not legal and cant honestly rember the last time actual full autto weapons were used in an incident like this(were the hollywood shooters guns even fully auttomatic?)but i guess we will have to find out what the gun was and where he got it before we come to any other conclusions on this

If he has an automatic gun then its most likely rifle. the average cop doesnt have the body armor to stop rifle rounds. Ave cops wear soft armor for hand gun rounds. Rifle rounds you need plates and cops dont wear plates because it adds an extra 10lbs for the expensive ones.

whats up with all these shoots?

copy cats?

fales flags?

People losing it because of the economic conditions?

CNN

Police are still at the scene making "sure there aren't multiple suspects," Officer Jason James of the Bryan Police Department said.

I found this
Texas A&M - Active Shooter - Fire Department Radio Traffic - 8/13/2012

and this was a constable

On the KBTX page I linked I see a constable's office vehicle. Now when a call goes out, EVERYONE (Sheriff, Constable, PDs ect ect) goes, but that picture might suggest it could be a warrant service gone bad (ie bad guy saw them coming maybe).. Some Constable Offices in Texas do Felony Warrant service on top of the misdemeanor warrant services they all do.

What? Are lower crime rates not appealing to gun owners?

The U.S should be no.1 in the world for the lowest amount of crime. That's not going to happen when any loon can buy a gun.

See, you and your liberal ilk are dangers to liberty and freedom!
If the US would simply enforce the EXISTING gun laws, then not "Any loon" could buy a gun. Understand that?

Also, if the the liberals wouldn't regulate freedom out of existence and demand everyone be subservient to a nanny state, then the citizens wouldn't be so easily victimized by loons!

Let's dive deeper and dissect your fallacious liberal premise - that low crime rates don't appeal to gun owners. Followed by your equally flawed support statement that the US should be no. 1 in the world for the lowest amount of crime.

For starters, the majority of gun owners ARE law-abiding. Shocking, I realize, because it flies in the face of what you want it to be. But it is true, gun owners are some of the most law-abiding citizens in this country. Mostly because most gun owners understand and respect freedom, liberty and the Bill of Rights.

Next, your supposition that the US should have the lowest crime rate... why? Why should they? Because you said so? What evidence do you have to support such a foolish contention?

You realize that our police, fire and paramendics are called RESPONDERS, right? They respond AFTER a crime has been comitted. It is not the government's job to protect you - you DO know that, right? It is YOUR job to protect yourself. Freedom loving, law abiding Americans know this and this is why we cherish our right to bear arms and the right to protect ourselves.

SHEEEEEEEEEEESH!

Folks, there's no denying that this is another tragedy. But lets put it in persective.

From Chicago. . . . .

Humboldt Park and Washington Park each saw two homicides in the last week, a RedEye analysis of preliminary police data found.

In Washington Park, a 28-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday in the first block of East 56th Street, police said. Three days earlier, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot in the 5500 block of South Wabash Avenue, according to officials.

Washington Park has logged seven homicides so far this year, RedEye data shows. The South Side community area recorded 10 homicides last year, RedEye determined.

In Humboldt Park, two 16-year-old boys were shot to death Aug. 2 in the 600 block of North Avers Avenue, police said.

Humboldt Park has logged 11 homicides so far this year, according to RedEye data. The West Side community area recorded 22 homicides last year.

homicides.redeyechicago.com...

And it's not even reported on the MSM. Just precaution.

Don'tlet the media manipulate your opinion on these events. Every one of these shooting deaths is a horrible tragedy. But for every one that is reported, several go ignored.

AK47,
poor responders dont even have a chance with that caliber round. you need a plate carrie tactical vest for those rounds.

From the comments section of the latest CNN article...
I find this interesting and all those saying the media is hyping this up in for the gun control agenda....this amplifies that point...

Posted by user "howdyags"

"As a student at A&M and a resident of the neighborhood in which the shooting took place, mass media has blown this event way out of proportion. Police quickly sectioned off the danger area, notified the public, and apprehended the shooter. This is crime doesn't even hold a candle to the Aurora shootings. I would be willing to bet that by the end of this whole ordeal we find that this was not meant to be any sort of terrorism or revenge killing."
