I'm seeing men on on bicycles (bicycle referring two cycles, the opening and closing of the ceremony, which in turn means 'the end'). They're wearing strange orange pyramid hats. These hats look like 'Pyramid Head' from the Silent Hill series, who was an executioner. It looks like they're showing many executioners (for the many people about to be killed?) Orange is also important symbolism in Buddhist colour and can mean 'dignity' - dignity in death?

I'm now watching men with metal containers (FEMA coffins) fighting with metal sticks (post-apocalyptical warfare?) to primitive drum music. Is this to signify peak-oil culture or what's left after a major urban apocalypse with no electricity and people fighting over the last remaining resources.

Now there's Beatle music: a segment from Day in the Life. Lennon murdered. McCartney killed and replaced. The song itself was infamously about a suicide in a car (is there a bomb in one of the many mini cars or black taxis in the ceremony?)

Saw a little bit of the Beeb while I was finetuning live coverage. The newscaster seemed more deadpan, almost a sadness in his voice.

It certainly is stranger than the opening ceremony imo

Behind Ray Davies, there's people in dark strange clothing carrying bodies above their heads. Maybe people removing dead bodies from the site? The song 'Waterloo Sunset' talks about "paradise" and Davies not being afraid. Is he acknowledging the fact that he's about to be a willing sacrifice?

Waterloo was Napoleon's downfall and a sunset is also the end of the day and the sun going down. Is the sun finally going down on the Empire?

Because royalty won't be in the firing line. But royalty had to attend the event for it not to look suspicious. So they use a body double.

I'm not saying it is. Just that it was my opinion, that he looked more like a double.

As she's 85 y.o. , my guess is she is at home in her jammies watching the ceremony on tv while she has her cocoa and biscuits.

so far its awfull with boring songs and stupid dancing
the vancouver winter 2010 ceremony were a thousand time better and by far

When i heard about the god save the queen song
i continued the song with . AFTER EVERYONE ELSE IS SAVED
if she was a real queen like a captain of her ship
she sould be the very last one to be saved in UK
now that would be one hell of a queen
