I mentioned in a post at the beginning of this thread that I wanted view more articles or videos of Ryan to see how he handled himself in other speaking engagements. Turns out he got heckled at the Iowa State Fair yesterday:

www.abcnews.go.com...

He mentions he is used to heckling because of living in Wisconsin so he has experience with this. There were several protesters who shouted out at him from the beginning of his speech. He does confront them:

"It's funny because Iowans and Wisconsinites, we like to be respectful of one another and peaceful with one another and listen to one another." This sounds like a good response but then he has to add this: " These ladies must not be from Iowa or Wisconsin." That also drew a storm of heckling.

To be fair, it sounds like he gets heckled all the time and that is why he chose to ignore Tom Nielsen in last year's rotary club engagement. It's his comeback remarks that are so bothersome and immature.

Read the article and decide for yourself.

I can't believe the left is feigning so much sensitivity to this incident. It is really disingenuous to try to smear Ryan because of what happened.

The left?

So you think seniors on the right are cheering on Paul Ryan and his behavior toward this man?

The left jumped for joy when anyone disrupted anything left is arrested, yet, we see some man in a prearranged political stunt get what he rightfully deserves by law and the left can't get it. Once again, there is no 1st Amendment protection for heckler's speech, its not considered to be political, religious or artistic. Learn the law and you'll see this guy is just a trouble maker.

I'm not right or left and I found humor in what Ryan said, # that retard for being a jerk.

The "Iowa" "incident" was apparently a planned disruption also, just like this one.

There are training sessions available to "disruptors". Some get paid. Some volunteer.

Some conclusions were that the "Iowa" people were from an outfit called Code Pink.

there is a thread about it....www.abovetopsecret.com...

Ryan may in fact be "handling" these things the way he is because he knows who they are !!

He has been around for a while and he is not an amateur.

Paul Ryan didn't do anything to this man except make a lame joke. The old man caused a disturbance and was removed. Big deal. He got what he deserved. And no, I don't think too many elderly conservatives have their panties in a bunch over this old news story.
This is much ado about nothing. I'm sure Ryan likes old people just as much as Obama does.

Yeah, I saw on a few articles that it mentioned the women hacklers were wearing pink shirts. At least he didn't ask her if she had PMS, lol.

I am a senior citizen - - and this is very serious business.

I do not see them as hecklers - - I see them as united for their future welfare.

I get tons of emails - - politically related to Medicare - Social Security - Insurance - etc.

This is not a left/right party issue.

That doesn't surprise me at all. I had a feeling you wouldn't. Outside of ATS I haven't had anyone even mention this incident to me. So I stick by my view that this is just an attempt to make a mountain out of a molehill. Hey. as long as people aren't talking about Obama's record right?

Do you have their group manifesto for their organized protest?

Yeah. It's called the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. You should be able to find a copy online or at your local library.

WHY did Paul Ryan suddenly decide to "privatize" his town hall meetings with his constituents? Is it right to charge $15 bucks for the privledge of asking your representitive a question?

Um, it's a Rotary meeting. You can tell by the huge Rotary banner standing behind Paul Ryan when he is speaking in the video.

At nearly every Rotary meeting, they have a guest speaker, and charge $15 a person to cover the costs of the luncheon. Paul Ryan was the guest speaker. Good grief.

The protests in these videos on this thread are staged - It's a publicity stunt for the leftists. Don't buy the hype.

Since this behavior started and was perfected by the TEAbaggers two years ago, you must be suggesting they are the ones giving the classes? Or you are just now disgusted with the idea, finally?

You can call it a publicity stunt, disinfo, planned, protestors, staged (whatever you want).

The fact stand Mr Ryan's actions in response to it were unprofessional, demeaning, definately insensitive, and shouldn't be tolerated.

If he were a man of good character and morals, he would have easily turned it into good media for himself, but his poor judgment and character stopped him. Too bad for him, he wasn't able to hide/lie better.

You must remember, propaganda and staged events are a two-way street. During election times, many skeletons will come out, it's the nature of it all. Romney and Ryan Inc's band of merry men are/will do the same to others.

It's sad, but this is how much of the 'truth' will come out.

I don't support what happened to him but the fact of the matter is there is a time and a place to engage in civil debate and not once in our nations history was that time and place a politicians stump speech. Nor is it appropriate to infiltrate such events with hecklers...this applies to both sides. It's not like Paul Ryan personally tackled the guy, in fact, it may not even have been his own security team but that of the meeting place's.

Nonsense. Paul Ryan handled the situation wonderfully. He didn't respond, other than trying to bring some humor to the situation with his funny comment about hoping the bloke had taken his blood pressure medication.

His response was perfect - professional and lighthearted. He didn't engage with these Communists detractors.

Of course, the leftist liberals like yourself will crucify Ryan as you crucify any politician that has strong conservative and traditional values.

Fortunately, the American public can think for themselves and can see through you and your ilk's rather comical charade. Big changes are coming in November, and the Dem's are running scared.

It isn't just one incident.

Personally I don't think that Prez Obama's demeaning behavior should be tolerated but he has to be voted out. Remember when POTUS gave the Supremes a going over in the middle of his State of the Union Address?

And then there's Bill Maher's demaning behavior

And then there's the Prez accusing Romney of a felony and he never apologized for that.

Amazing how much stuff the Left expects us all to tolerate on their behalf.

You know, I get real frustrated when I see my fellow Republicans fail to take advantage of cases like this and profit from the experience to make ourselves better as a party.

Instead of realizing that this instance could be used to better the way our elected representatives interact with people that disagree, we have to demonize and belittle those that are offended.

Not only that, since we can't defend Ryan's actions completely we must change the subject and talk about Obama while we call people socialist liberal lefties....deflecting from the original point of the thread.

Maybe if we were willing to accept that some people were concerned about what happened, we could talk about it and move on to a real discussion that meant something of value.

But no....let's continue to deflect and use terms like Marxism and such improperly and continue to make ourselves look like uneducated neanderthals. It's for the party...so why not?
