More lies. As you can see from the other videos posted, this was an organized protest from a group of radical lefties that were hell bent on interrupting a private speaking event.

A group of seniors with concerns is an organized protest?

I wonder if they all have SWAT gear in the truck of their cars.

Group of seniors, eh? Nice try. The protest videos show people that are middle aged, and one of the African-American protestors looks pretty young to me.

The age of the protestors doesn't matter. This wasn't a public Town Hall meeting. This was a private event interrupted and disrupted by some leftist radical goofball protestors.

Democrats are scared to death that the Romney/Ryan team will take the White House:

www.nationalreview.com...

"First, if Ryan is an extremist and his proposals are so unpopular, how has he won election seven times in a Democratic district? His lowest share of the vote was 57 percent — in his first race. He routinely wins over two-thirds of the vote. When Obama swept the nation in 2008, he carried Ryan’s district by four points. But at the same time, Ryan won reelection with 65 percent of the vote, meaning that a fifth of Obama voters also voted for him.

Ryan has pointed out to me that no Republican has carried his district for president since Ronald Reagan in 1984. “I have held hundreds of town-hall meetings in my district explaining why we have to take bold reform steps, and I’ve found treating people like adults works,” he told me. “All those ads pushing elderly woman off the cliffs don’t work anymore if you lay out the problem.”

Second, Democrats know that Ryan has Reaganesque qualities that make him appealing to independent, middle-class voters."

I am failing to understand how saying "I hope he's taking his blood pressure meds" is an old joke. If someone is angry and yelling, their blood pressure is going to be high, which is what the joke seems to be about to me. My husband is only 31 years old and is on blood pressure meds.

Right - - it shows people.

Do you have their group manifesto for their organized protest?

Let's play a game of hypotheticals.......

Everyone assume for a moment that these people, including the old man that was in the video, was part of a radical leftist, dirty hippie plot to disrupt the Paul Ryan event.

Everyone with me? Dirty hippie socialist protest.......got it!

Now, if we look past the Marxist hippie protest all we have left are the questions and concerns that these people had.

Without looking at this with partisan blinders, can we not say that these people had valid questions and concerns?

Shouldn't it be mandatory of our politicians to address our concerns as the people that pay their salary and put them into positions of power in which our future well-being rests?

All this I ask without concern for party or political ideology. Can we not agree as people that our politicians should have their feet held to the fire?

I love it, this guy in the video clearly is breaching public safety by standing up and shouting in the course of an authority speaking (Paul Ryan), of which, making the person who is shouting as guilty as all the people who were arrested for shouting during a speaker engagement that Obama was attending. The partisan outcry from the left is so double speak here it's not even funny. The man who is trying to assert the "heckler's law" where he disrupts the current speaking of a person who has been noted as having the podium is in fact not afforded a first amendment right of speech just a nice beating by police and citing of public disturbance and resisting arrest.

The left, yet again, crying wolf when they themselves have been the wolf for the past 3 years. Maybe one day when the partisans (left and right) realize that treating each other with such disrespect only comes back around in double when it's the others time to delegate the force. All I can say is the left is going to lose huge in Congress and the Executive, most likely will lose two SCOTUS seats as well in the next four to 8 years. The rest will be done by a viscous witch hunt by the right and most likely the start of political prisoners will be revealed by NDAA sec 1021, and no one will oppose what ever theocracy or fascist government we end up with. The best part for me because of my current job and abilities, I'll most likely be the one delving out the punishment for the those people who end up as residence of the state, I'm not a very nice guy either.

When was the last time Obama fielded questions from the press or from concerned citizens? I think it is going on 8 weeks now. I agree that they need to have their feet held to the fire. We need a lot more reporters who can leave their ideological hats on the shelf and actually do the job they are getting paid for; ferreting out the truth no matter who the candidate is.
But sadly those days are gone. Now we have shills parroting the talking points of their favorite political party and running interference for them.

I guess this sets the tone for what we should expect. Are we really surprised? The old man didn't exactly use tact by expressing his view, but I can understand the frustration he is feeling to watch everything you work for get pissed away and they don't care. They (both sides) just don't care about anything other than staying in control.

He was not aggressive, just loud, Paul could have done a bang up job at resolving the situation by actually communicating with the man and listening to him, but no, let us make an old joke at his expense.
edit on 12-8-2012 by pointr97 because: (no reason given)

He could have spoke up and said...no let the man finish and heard him out! Instead the little weasel makes jokes about someone who could have been my Father or you Father or your Grandfather!!
Are we going to let “Willard THE RAT Romeny” and Paul “The Weasel” Ryan do the same to everyone who speaks their mind in this country???
I am not a Democrat but there is no way in hell I will vote for these rich clowns EVER!

No? But you will vote for some other "Rich Clowns", who act in equally despicable ways?
You seem to think that your vote really makes a difference. How amusing!

I do vote local and I do believe that it counts. The Electoral college needs a massive overhaul though…As does our presidency perhaps a bracket of $50,000-150,000 a year income. When you are finished with your term if they country is in better shape than when you started you can run another term if not we the American people finish you! We could apply something similar to Congress with public beatings if your State is worse off when your term is up!

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Yes, it was a prearranged, orchestrated disruption of a meeting. Shockingly, the invited speaker and hosts were not amused.

It was a private function.

That leads me to a few questions...

WHY did Paul Ryan suddenly decide to "privatize" his town hall meetings with his constituents?

Is it right to charge $15 bucks for the privledge of asking your representitive a question?

And if someone does pay that entrance fee to ask a question...is it right to have that person arrested if Paul Ryan doesn't like the question?

Cowardice....he can't even defend his own plan, but would rather have people arrested.

And just an observation...that ha-ha joke he made about "Hoping he took his blood pressure pills" tells me everything I need to know about what this man genuinely thinks about the elderly...good for punch lines and stealing from to fund wars and tax breaks for millionaires.

Don't you think this would ensure that our so called PUBLIC officials who are paid for by us and work FOR US do the job we ask. Not big corporations nor special interest groups just us the lowly tax payers who will beat you if you don't do as you are asked!

It was a constituent asking a question of his own representitive. Not a coup d’état.

Oh...I don't think the seventy one year old man who was taken to the ground and arrested was amused? Either in his question or in the answer in the form of arrest? Paul Ryan seemed to be the only one that WAS amused! What does that tell you?

Although Ryan tried to play it off with some off the cuff observations that weren't appreciated by the "free speech" squad.

You seem very confused on the definition of "Free Speech"...

Ryan certainly had the right to excercise his "Free Speech" in mocking the elderly....and anyone who chooses to has the right to call him an idiot and ageist for doing so...that too is "Free Speech"...niether is denying the other the ability to express thier opinion??? Thier right to "free speech"?? Understand?

Just like that seventy year old man can ask his representitive a question without being arrested....oh...that's right, he can't.

Well you may not have printed the entire article, but I still read it anyway.

Good for you.

Your politics is so extreme to one side - - - there is no objectivity.

I am at least middle-of-the-road fiscally (socially liberal)

Oh please Annie! You cherry pick your issues and you certainly have no sympathy for anyone opposing your views. So does being "socially liberal" make you "correct" somehow? Do you think being "socially liberal" makes you objective? Do you believe that being in the "middle" makes you objective? Being in the middle can also be flip floppy under certain circumstances. However, what you are trying to do here is typical of what "liberal" people are trying to do of late, that is present their opponents as "extreme".

Also, you say you are fiscally middle of the road. So does that mean you don't agree with socialist values? If that were really the case you would reject Obamacare and take the time to see what Ryan's plan really means. I'm guessing you are not as middle of the road as you think you are.

So he had the power base behind him already? Interesting, seems like he may have been 'tagged' long ago and knew the course he was headed. Everything he has represented and done then has been staged. I am clear on that base don your post.

You reap what you sow. The old man acted like a jerk and got treated in like manner. This type of incident happens all the time and the results is the same; The one disrupting the meeting will get escorted out the easy way or the hard way.
I can't believe the left is feigning so much sensitivity to this incident. It is really disingenuous to try to smear Ryan because of what happened.
So much drama over such a minor and common incident!

No I'm not confused, at all. Anyone who decides to accost an elected member of the government at a private function and scream disruptively abut their specific grievances to the detriment of everyone else who may be there to hear the speaker is exercising "free speech".

If the speaker makes a flippant remark in response, he's a callous, elderly-hating swine who should be hung for not acquiescing to thug tactics.

I'm not at all confused.
