Really.

And you are how old?

I wouldn't be surprised if the old man is an Obama plant and the whole incident was intentionally planned.

Then how does that account for Ryan's joke - was he in on it to? Ryan stood there and watched this senior citizen get cuffed and dropped to the floor, just for asking a question. Then he cruelly joked about him, "I hope he took his blood-pressure medication, HA HA". That Obama must have worked some serious mojo on him to get Ryan to behave like a boor at his own rotary club meeting.

They have eliminated "early voting" periods across the country.

The elderly aren't ones to go stand in line for an hour on Super Tuesday and many of them aren't physically capable to wait in line on a hot Florida afternoon.

In Florida...over HALF the voting populace votes in early voting.

Reducing early and absentee days. At least nine states introduced bills to reduce their early voting periods, and four tried to reduce absentee voting opportunities.

Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia succeeded in enacting bills reducing early voting.

www.brennancenter.org...

My point?...the GOP is feeling confident that they have disenfranchised enough older voters where they can go ahead with tearing into Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

Oh really? And just what do you think Obamacare has already done to Medicare and Medicaid? Let's have a looksee at what Obamacare does.

From Jim DeMint

11. Imposes reductions in Medicare spending that, according to the program’s non-partisan actuary, would cause 40 percent of all Medicare providers to become unprofitable, and could lead to their exit from the program (Section 3401)
12. Raises premiums on more than 17 million seniors participating in Medicare Part D, so that Big Pharma can benefit from its “rock-solid deal“ struck behind closed doors with President Obama and Congressional Democrats (Section 3301)
14. Creates a multi-billion dollar “slush fund” doled out solely by federal bureaucrats, which has already been used to fund things like bike paths (Section 4002)
18. Precludes poor individuals from having a choice of health care plans by automatically dumping them in the Medicaid program (Section 1413(a))
23. Extends the Medicare “payroll tax” to unearned income for the first time ever, including new taxes on the sale of some homes (Section 1402)
25. Requires individuals to go to the doctor and get a prescription in order to spend their own Flexible Spending Account money on over-the-counter medicines (Section 9003)
27. Imposes a new tax on the makers of goods like pacemakers and hearing aids (Section 9009)

28. Creates an insurance reimbursement scheme that could result in the federal government obtaining Americans’ medical records (Section 1343)
45. Puts yet another Medicaid unfunded mandate on states, by raising payments to primary care physicians, but only for two years, forcing states to come up with another method of funding this unsustainable promise when federal funding expires (Section 1202)

www.fitsnews.com...

So shall we stop screaming about Ryan and get to what's really going on here? Ryan's opposition to Obamacare is likely what has set off quite a bit of this assault on him.

And just something for a quick reference for those who refuse to do their own research, here is an excerpt from Huffpo

"By that accounting," Stephanopoulos said, "your own budget, which Gov. Romney has endorsed, would also have $500 billion in Medicare cuts."
"Well our budget keeps that money for Medicare to extend its solvency," Ryan said. "What Obamacare does is it takes that money from Medicare to spend on Obamacare."
Stephanopoulos was confused: "Congressman, correct me if I am wrong: I thought your Medicare savings were put toward deficit reduction, debt reduction."

"Which extends the solvency of Medicare," Ryan said. "What they do in Obamacare, they try to count this dollar twice. They claim that this helps Medicare solvency and, at the same time, they spend this money on creating Obamacare.

"The trustee report for Medicare, they say the same thing," Ryan added. "You can't count these dollars twice. In our budget we make sure all of these dollars from Medicare savings go toward extending the solvency of Medicare and don't go toward spending new money on Obamacare."

www.huffingtonpost.com...

So how about doing the homework first instead of just running with the whole Ryan throwing Granny off the cliff routine.

And why exactly is that relevant? Either what I said is true, or it is not. If you wish to argue, then argue about what I said, my age has no bearing on the truth of my statement.

As I posted before, Kerry stood around pretending to be nice while that college kid got tased. Did Kerry stop it from happening? Nope. It was just a big show for him.

True?

You spoke for the elderly. If you are not elderly - - then how can you justify speaking for them?

Did you even read what I wrote, I am not speaking for the elderly. The guy is misguided because he believes something that is not true.
Based off your faulty logic, I can never disagree with someone outside my age group, because I am not in the same age group and don't know what their view is. From there I can say, Race, Gender, Religion. ect. Basically, according to you I can not disagree with anyone except people exactly like me, because I can't see things from their point view.

That makes so much sense, what was I thinking.

Ignore her, CalebRight14. This is a completely typical response from her, always personal and consistently irrelevant.

No it is not irrelevant.

I am 65. I am a senior citizen. How does a young person justify speaking for me?

The wording was not IMO - - - but "this man must be thinking".

Yes I did.

You are speaking directly for this man saying he is misguided in what he believes.

You don't know the full extent of what he believes or why he chose to act when and how he did.

Then you should be attacking both sides, and not just one.

I'd love to, but this thread is about Paul Ryan.

I also fail to see where people are allowed in Socialist Countries to walk into private functions and spout off as well. That is where the Socialist ties come in play.

This old man was not allowed to do so in our constitutional republic. Are you saying that our country, and Republican events, are socialist?

Aha see it's all Republican neocons to you.

I did not say that. Did I? I am a Republican, so it would be silly for me to generalize...would it not?

It's just unfortunate that most people do not understand the fine line between conservatism and NeoConservatism.

And you are defending his actions all the same but because you are his demographic you are claiming the high-ground here...Maybe the discussion can move onto the issues at hand.

This video p&$$'d me off like I have never been before concerning these fools running for office. This is unacceptable. The man in the video had every right as an American citizen to question a candidate about the platform that he is running on! And Ryan that piece of dog refuse has the audacity to make fun of the man! Of course he's (the man) angry as we all should be.
I'm to the point that I am no longer keeping my mouth shut. I will deal with the consequences at the time they are put before me. But I believe we all need to be angry. But outside that I don't know what we can do? We have very few rights any more, and obviously talking to the ptb is a waste of time. Recently someone told me we have to effect change on a local level. I don't see that as being a solution in most cases local bends to the federal. So what do we do? I read somewhere today that Americans are dumbed down and fearful. I don't think that is the only case here. I think we just don't know what to do.
I know I'm leaving myself wide open here for sarcasam, so be kind. I'm being very up front in my asking. How do we take back our country?

How was Ryan supposed to know if the guy was a Left Wing plant ?

I think Ryan realized what it was.

He went through the "training" and saw it as it was happening.

"Ryanoia" has started in earnest ...

Panic Incorporated.

No matter how you look at it, Mr Ryan's comment was unneeded and especially unprofessional for a man in his position. EVEN if the old man was a plant. The way I see it is, this showed Mr Ryan's true colors.

and you're comment earlier about actually listening to Mr Ryan, you made me LOL. Because I HAVE listened to him, and also researched what he's voted for and against, Mr Ryan is nothing more than a liar giving lip service.

You've heard of TARP right? what about the Patriot Act? should I list more? Better yet, there are plenty of threads about what he really stands for right here on ATS. I'm wondering if you've actually listened and done your research on this guy before saying the things you've said.

Again, like I've said in previous posts in this thread. The 71yo man should have waited his turn, and didn't show much class in his anger. But what's sadder is, Mr Ryan made that 'joke' about a man who could very well have a medical condition.

If anyone is to run/wish to be elected as VP, they should.. let me rephrase that, MUST be held at a higher standard. Two wrongs don't make a right. Plant or no plant.
