Thank you for this conversation. I remember when smoking pot was not a big deal. Then Nixon started the war on drugs because he thought it contributed to the protests against the Viet Nam War. I remember in 1968 during the civil rights protests, my high school was invaded by protestors and the parking lot was rioted and we had to leave school. I remember when Martin Luther King was killed and how afraid everyone was of more riots. I remember when JFK was killed and the tears poured, I was living in Dallas then, 11 yrs old. I remember when my brothers were drafted to Viet Nam, after Johnson increased the troop levels, and had no way out like the wealthy and powerful. I remember my mother sitting by the tv every night, hoping to get a glimpse of her sons. In those days, they covered the war right on tv. Mostly, I remember my father getting drunk every night crying about his experiences in WW2, and it made him a violent father and husband. There were no domestic violence laws then. I NEVER want to go back to those days.

Agreed. Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying it's all been milk and honey for the 'boomers.

I'm just saying that since the 'boomer's became old enough to start "running the show" they have shown remarkable disregard for anyone who has come after them. Again...as a generational whole.

I wasnt tryimg to play lawyer. He was being a pain in the ass. Other people were there to listen, he was mak8ng that hard to do. He needed a time out. Cops were escorting him, he was resisting, he probably fell down or wouldnt hold still so he wound up on the ground.

I've witnessed enough of your comments to know that if this elderly man were on your side of the political agenda, that you would be just as outraged as many of us are.

The older man was resistant to the pain the policemen were causing his broken arm. Of course he was trespassing.. ..

The blood pressure comment was uncalled for and that seems not to bother you, but I have a feeling it might in the future.. if he is VP.

I wish people could view others as people without a party/side/dog in the race and comment objectively when viewing videos like this one, because it's clear that this man posed no real threat, and didn't need to be taken to ground or caused further pain.

71 yrs old, watching everything you worked for and paid into being discussed and seen as meaningless by those in higher power who probably spend more on dinner at some fancy restaurant for one meal than this guy gets in a month. And that meal is being paid for with our tax dollars,, so... doesn't that make him entitled...yeah!

Are you kidding me? what are you 12 years old?

Shut your big mealy mouth and stand in line to speak in the open mike, dont start yelling and ranting in a meeting and expect you'll be honored.

get a grip or be put down like a rabid dog.

Oh BTW, just saying.

I see people are still here suggesting that because Ryan is a politician he deserves to be yelled at by some guy who obviously has been listening to liberal rhetoric and lies about the economy and the Ryan program. And he deserves to be abused by people in the audience why?
I understand the guy is angry but it is not Ryan's fault the entire economy is in such a downward spiral. I have really had enough of this liberal blaming of conservatives and everyone but themselves. Seems like a lot of people here assume Ryan is elite establishment. Or maybe y'all just hate him for being a Catholic, but then so is Nanceeee. I will take Ryan over Nancy any day.

Yes there are plenty of Occupiers here who hate the Tea Party and there were plenty of Democrats who opposed Tea Partiers at every Town Hall, so much so that they would go early and pack the rooms so Tea Partiers couldn't even get in. So yah there's plenty of partisanship to go around.

How many people realize that the United States of America was founded on terrorism and anarchy? Some of Americas first terrorist... The Boston Tea Party group, Paul Revere who gave warning to the rebels, Washington who command the army. So isn't a bit hypocritical when our government tries to silence it's citizens? Where would be if the Revolution failed? The government should be here to listen to us, we are not here to support the government. Once a citizen is silenced because of the words that they say then how are we in any better shape than when a monarchy ruled us?

Why is questioning a politician on his ideas "obviously liberal"?

He had a valid concern considering that he had paid into the system probably all of his working life and the politician on stage wants to do away with the programs he paid for.

How is it that we have come to the point where the Republican party will not tolerate any dissent or questioning of their agenda? If someone does question them, they are taken down by the cops and discredited by being called liberal.

And people hate Ryan because he's Catholic? Please.....how insulting to our intelligence!

Propaganda and bull# at it's finest!

The truly sad part of this is there is nowhere to really run. If you think Canada would be better, go for it, you won't be missed. If you think that Greece is better, maybe you can join in the riots, or would that mess up your quiet meditation on peace at any price? How about Iran? Likely they won't put up with your choice of spirituality and put a veil over your face. Maybe Iraq..I hear there's a good deal in Iraqui dinar. Australia...not enough ozone. Maybe France, they are socialist too and I'm sure the old buildings and gas ovens won't bother you a bit, oh and I think they have those funny gadgets in the bathroom, but watch out for fights breaking out on soccer night. I'm sure you will come to love the Algerian/French disputes and the lining up on the streets on Fridays.
Germany, I bet you and bicycles get along real well.
Holland...sounds like you would have a blast at those hashish/coffee shops. Be sure to get the good stuff from India. Who else, Egypt I guess you will like the reforms the MB are setting up and I understand the communists are fighting for power in Tunisia against the other factions but at least the Mediterranean is great. I recommend Sousse, Monastir and Hammamet. Oh and the police are on the people's side there so that is great for Occupiers. Also they have a big telecom infrastructure. They hosted a big Intl Telecom conference in Tunis, but whatever you do, do not criticize the govt....oh wait that was under the former Prez Bin Ali, and anyway who needs YouTube (which you won't get) when you can have fb(which you can have).

Well aren't we getting quite a list of countries whose profiles should easily match your view of the Constitution.

I love how you call it "questioning" ...looked more like a screaming session to me. Believe me, I am also mad at the Elite, but why does Ryan have to bear the brunt of this? The answer: because the Democrats and Obama supporters and the liberal media are making him the scapegoat and it's a convenient way to make him look bad at election time. He has a target on his back because he is the Republican choice for VP. It's just that plain and simple. The media is also branding him "extreme" right. Never mind he keeps winning in a Democrat neighborhood...but face it..Ryan's ideas are too much of a threat to the socialist entitlement mindset. Frances Fox must be getting the bloodhounds ready as we speak.

One more thing sheepslayer, maybe you don't hate Catholics but there are more than a few right on this board who hate Christianity. I have seen the hatefests here over and over again in many threads. Nancy doesn't really count because she is DSA.

Considering i make a living off punching people in the face, id have to disagree. And how do you know im not packed? There you go assuming things again. Im not gonna play this back and forth tit for tat with you though. Anyone who thinks its ok to silence and manhandle a senior citizen for speaking out on something hes been working for his entire life, and someone wants to take it from him, is not worth my time. One day when youre ready to retire, and they tell you you cant have what youve worked a life time for, i hope youre gagged, slammed to the ground, handcuffed and taken to jail. Cause i mean.. who cares if you slaved a 9 to 5 for 50+ years only to get shafted.. right??

And this is all Ryan's fault of course because he singlehandedly skimmed the cream off the top of the SS fund....cmon you can do better than that. Blaming him and screaming at him for trying to come up with a different solution than the idiotic spendfest the Obama team has chosen is not going to get us anywhere.
