To his credit, Tantawi has been instrumental in holding the country together during its time of crisis. However, his influence, along with the other Generals that comprise the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, tempers President Morsi's authority.

This is certainly a bold step, especially because President Morsy also canceled the supplement to the Constitutional Declaration, which limited the power of the presidency.

Which means . . what, that Egypt will not seem to be so moderate in the future regarding maybe certain alliances?
Just wondering. Anyway, nice to have someone in the area to report on the goings-on there, so thanks for the info.
