A Turkish hostage and an Iraqi Kurdish hostage have been beheaded in Iraq, the video shown on an Islamic website. The Ansar al-Sunnah Army have claimed responsibility; they are also believed to be behind the brutal slaying of 12 Nepalese and 3 Kurds in August.

A written statement appearing on the Internet video accused the Iraqi Kurdish translator, Luqman Hussein, of participating in raids with U.S. troops in the Ramadi area. A second statement said the Turkish contractor, Maher Kemal, was working for the Americans at an air base north of the capital.

Hussein said he worked with U.S. forces at an agricultural site in Ramadi and was captured en route to Baghdad, about 70 miles east of Ramadi.

The statement said Kemal was abducted Friday on the highway between Mosul and Baghdad.

The videotape warned foreigners against coming to Iraq "for making cheap earthly profits by being allies with the Crusaders in their war on Islam."

Another video was aired on Al Arabiya TV showing a hooded man identified as as Turkish truck driver. A group claiming to be the Tawhid and Jihad are threatening his execution.

Time will come when this isn't news - if they catch you - they kill you.

I wonder if people in Iraq, nationals or not, now feel more secure under a temporary coalition authority appointed by the US invading forces.

Depends on your point of view. Trouble is none of us in the West are qualified to say.

Thing is, if 2 car bombs go off and kill a few people in Gaghdad it's a big story here. However in Iraq, if you live 200 miles from the bombing are you worried?

Like when the IRA blew up a pub in Birmingham (England) it didn't worry me. Birmingham is 250 miles away - nothing to do with me.

You gotta ask an irai if they feel safer now or when they had a tyrant in charge of them.

It'll settle down in time. The only problem is, Iraq after Saddam may not be what the US and Briatain had in mind - the Iraqi people might have their own idea.

Under Saddam you had only 2 people to fear. His kids. Under the US you have just about everyone to fear.
