How ya goin,... the story so far.I,ve been visiting the site for a couple of years on & off now.I seem to have the time to actually write something &
get more involved at the moment. There seems to be something for everyone here to discuss,no matter your age, beliefs or station in life.I am in my
early fifties, with a family, five kids, teens to late twenties.I have been in engineering all my life but am nearly retired, hopefully.I enjoy reading
on the internet as i believe we don,t get the whole truth in the news on the devils eyeball.I,m a bit anti war as of late. With five kids I,ve been the
adjudicator in many, many disputes & i find that in a meaningful discussion there is always a compromise. The world seems to be headed for a time when
we are going to realise how small it really is.Maybe that will bring about a change in thinking.I will contribute where time & knowledge permit & i
hope the bluebird of happiness shines on you all. See ya.

Welcome, Wombathole. We have a lot in common, it appears.
"I am in my early fifties..."
Sixty in December
"...with a family,five kids,teens to late twenties"
Okay one kid, age 19.
"I have been in engineering all my life but am nearly retired, hopefully."
Me too; I hope to leave Boeing in 2007 or 2008.
"I enjoy reading on the internet as i believe we don,t get the whole truth in the news on the devils eyeball."
Surely you jest, Wombathole; why would we ever doubt anything on the idiot-box?
"I,m a bit anti war as of late. With five kids I,ve been the adjudicator in many, many disputes & i find that in a meaningful discussion there is
always a compromise."
My guess is that you didn't vote for John Howard. To be honest, I didn't, either!
Anyway, from old engineer to another, welcome!

Welcome wombathole.
Unfortunately, Latham was too controversal to maximise the anti-war vote.
A difficult choice for many I imagine. If the only difference in policy had been Iraq then it could well have been different.
