Why Do Australian's Hate America

I am one to frequent ATS because I find the views of those living abroad at times, hilarious, while others times, disgusting. I, particularly get quite flustered at so many bashing the United States and its ideologies. When I do post my opinions on this site, I notice how so many Australians spit hate at my country. They find us arrogant but I believe this is due to their lack of having a sense of humor. Americans are not arrogant and we do not think we are better than others. What we are, is a proud people who risk our own lives helping others. We are the most philanthropic country in the world, yet we are still hated. Yes, we go to war on a frequent basis, but it is not always about oil as many of you state. You need to take the time to do your research and you will see all the great things my country does for the world. You will find multitudes of positive things, if you would take the time to do your research.

After dealing with so much defamation, name calling, and harassment by some of our Aussie friends, I would like to give you a gift. Now your first reaction will be anger, then your final reaction will be anger. Hopefully, I can change that. This image I drew is a JOKE and nothing more! I do not believe Australia is riding on our coat tails, nor do I feel Americans are better than you. The point I am making is the fact that we make fun of ourselves more than we do any other country. That is what is great about my country. We can defame, and hate this wonderful country and do not have to worry about going to prison or getting shot for our views of our own motherland.

The crazy jokes we say about other countries, we tell ten times more about ourselves. Why? Because we have a sense of humor. Look at all the movies made here. Unless, you lack intelligence, we are making fun of ourselves because it is simply funny. Remember, I drew this as a reaction to the hate you spit and to let you feel how I feel so maybe the hate will stop. This photo is a parody and nothing more. Have a great night!

im an aussie and i hate the US government for what its done to mine...

our prime minister(that red haired skank) actually said that her true friends are in washington...

how would you feel if obama said that his true friends are in Israel?

I only know of one aussie here that constantly drones on about America

bare in mind his statements like anyone elses are merely a reflection of themselves not of their country or anything else

And if you don't support it , you are just a human being planning to live at peace with other people. Then no one hates you.

Why is this in prophecies and predictions? Are they going to hate us in some point in the future? Could I at least get some dates? London Olympic doom porn is getting old.

Why blame America for what has happened to your country? This is my point. Do your people have the gonads to make its own decisions? I would like to believe that. America gets blamed when you trip over a stone. Open your eyes, vote for those who can make judgements on their own. America does not force you to do what America feels you need to do. This is your own people and your own government officials voted in by you.

Australians don't have a sense of humour?

You obviously have never been to Australia. We are mocking yous all the time. From personal experience though I will tell you who does hate Americans.. The Poms. Maybe because yous kicked their ass in a civil war or something.

I do like the pic as it does imitate life... IMO Australia has ridden on the coat tails of America for a long time..

Particular Individuals who are Ignorant or abusive are who I hate. Whether they be American, Asian, Middle Eastern and all others or even fellow Aussies...

Well, I'm an Aussie and I don't hate Yanks. I don't care where people are from, if they are arrogant or stupid it annoys me

It's more a thing of disliking your government. The US was once a great country, a protector. They have become more like a bully now and no one likes a bully. It's quite sad that the American people are held to the image of their government, but isn't every country? Until the people all stand for what they believe and put an end to the way the country is run, I'm afraid things will only get worse for your country and many others.

It may be a craigslist thing. I used to look at the Britain rant and raves section. It is pure hatred, back and forth. I monitored the sector for two years, never a hitch. Someone let me know if it's still happening.

Never checked up on the Aussies though.

One should consider what they see of us though. Rumsfeld, romney, chertoff, bush, cheney, rice, obama, pelosi, reid, frank, jerry springer, oprah, and other scum. We're in the pot, so we don't notice anymore. If you saw their faces all at once, it'd kill you.

I'm not too sure why this is in the prophercies forums, but hey i'll bite.

I'll take this in the two standard parts as i usually do:

1. "All Australians 'hate' Americans"

- So here goes, Not all Australian's hate Americans, I dislike the minority of Americans who believe the following:
1. That we ride kangaroos
2. That we have "Drop Bears"
3. Think we are mostly like Steve Irwin
4. Think that the rest of us are like Crocodile Dundee
5. That Australia itself is apart of Europe geographically (yes, this comes up)
6. That we speak good English
7. You can walk from one side of the country to the other in a "few days"

Pretty much most of the "hate" is generated by ignorance of our culture(s). You know how sick of answering "So, whats your pet kangaroo's name?" and if i ride him/her/it to work each day? Couple that with the recent activities in Iraq and Afganistan, having "patriotic" Americans boucing up and down about how the Australian Defence Force (ADF) has done "nothing", is also pretty grating and I'm sure your marines and other American military personal on the ground over in Afganistan and Iraq would beg to differ.

I'll use this ONLY as examples from international printed press, many countries spin the line that we are "mini-America" or we are a country full of drunk, lazy louts or a bunch of racists, that also gets on our collective nerves.

The last thing that cracked me up recently in a debate about world war 2, apparently Australian troops where getting slaughtered until the Americans re-enforced us, yes i was told this was fact despite using my lovely tablet to prove otherwise.

In the end its how we are perseved in other countries, some TV personalities certainly do us no favors, and of course people remember people like Steve Irwin, yet forget the true patriotic Australians who helped shape this country into what she is today.

2. "The picture" - LOL! Love it, shame we have no space program, and we could say that NASA uses us to relay things like the Apollo program and the Mars rover program? So perhaps the image should be NASA borrowing our phone? (note, this is intended as a joke, not as a realistic view)

no, not always oil, but always for profit...(and seemingly never for actual defence or humanitarian purposes)

And the bit about getting gonads and choosing good leaders, are you saying your leaders are truly representative of the American people?

I am an American, who has Aussie friends, Brit, and we share Kiwi friends, too. All in the same inner circle. I think it is mostly a tailored sterotype type that forces hatred on us.

Where do you get the supporting evidence to say Australians hate America? I know it alsmost seems true here at ATS, but this is hardly a good population sample to use as the hateometer.

Yes, meaning when we make our own decisions and it has nothing to do with our government, the country as a whole gets blamed for our own decisions.
