Papa John's could easily comply with the healthcare law, improve their workers lives, and not raised their prices one cent...but that means no money for the rich guys...so they have to stick it to the working class to please their masters.

But you go ahead and blame a law that is focused on making sure everyone has health insurance so they don't die.

Profit.

What a dirty word.

Let's all shake our fists at making money and profit!

And by the same token, the Bush Tax cuts are not named after President Bush but are really called "The Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003, and was signed by President Bush, which is where "The Bush Tax Cuts" come from.

So since obama pushed for and signed the Affordable Care Act why shouldn't it be called obama care?

The title should really go to the only guy who was able to implement the affordable care act.
Romney.
In Mass. 98% of residents are covered and health costs for the state and citizens have gone down.

To the MAJORITY of the free world - who were AGAINST this, by the way, it IS Obamacare. Calling the "Affordable Care Act" has obvioulsy turned out to be a lie as there is absolutely nothing affordable about it! It's not affordbale for businesses, not affordbale for individuals and certainly not affordable to the tax-payers. The only people it is "Affordable" for are those leaches on society who pay no taxes and will receive free healthcare - so please spare me the hand wringing nonsense!

Now that we've dispensed with your silly obfuscation, how about addressing the theme of the thread - the fact that the cost of OBAMACARE is going to bury consumers, workers and tax-payers???

-because of rationing. there i fixed it.

Just like The oil embargo in the 70’s. Cost of gas was set at a fixed price but to keep gas in the supply/demand equilibrium rationing was imposed.

Its cheaper and prices are fixed, but you have to wait in line dying to get help.

Any business that has their insurance premiums rise because of Obama care will of course pass this increase in expenses along to their consumers.

I don't see how anyone could think different.

I guess this is part of the Change we wanted.

First they came for my pizza, but I'm lactose intolerant, so I didn't care. . . .

Then they came for my tofu,. . .

Get used to ALL prices going up for everything. It's the legacy of ACA.

The prices for everything are going to go up regardless. The second year of record heat has decimated crops. It won't stop anyone from blaming the ACA for the increase, but that doesn't change the facts. Prices are going to go up.

Who are the shareholders of Papa John's?

I think you will find this pretty revealing.

Among the shareholders of Papa John's:

JPMorgan Asset Management, Inc. (1,511,769 shares)
Goldman Sachs Asset Management LP (341,390 shares)
Rothschild Asset Management, Inc (181,107)

Says a lot!

I see what you are trying to imply here, but all this means is that the 3 Banks you mention have shares of Papa John's in thier mutual funds and other investment products. This isn't anything new.

The cost of living and food prices are spiraling upwards across the world. It has nothing to do with Obama and his policy but rather the ushering in of the new age. Through a financial noose will all of us be expected to try out so as they can have our neck size.

My simple advice is to begin now..! not tomorrow or the next week and begin researching ways to get off the grid. Look up people, its called the "Sun", its energy is endless in comparison to your natural life, so why aren't you all using it to fuel your homes. If you sat down with your husband or wife and did some number crunching you will see that logic behind disconnecting from the grid and providing your own source of energy. But...it is true that over so many decades they have achieved their goal.

You must connect to the grid so you can watch television, you must connect to the grid do cook your morning breakfast, you must connect to the grid because we tell you there is no other way and the other way is way way too expensive...isn't that what they have told you ? directly or indirectly !

Making profits is fine, being tied down to have to increase your profits every quarter to please your shareholder masters creates a system where people will always get screwed over.

Exactly remember back when Ward was teaching Wally and the Beav about investing? Trying to explain to them that while not as sexy and exciting as the stock that Eddie wanted them to invest in, that the power plant stock was the way to go because it made the steady if slow growing stable profit. The problems we face now are the direct result of investors race to the bottom. So what if it destroys companies and mutilates the economy as long as you get your cash back yesterday?

According to very reliable sources, this bombshell will stir up just about everybody in the whole nation !

I for one have just about Had it UP to HERE

First off...Let's be honest...Papa John's pizza sucks...it really does. It's wet cardboard and spaghetti sauce.

Second...If you are having a breakdown Xue, maybe you need to stop obsessing about Briebart.com, they constitute what? about 90% of your endless OPs?

Thirdly...You forgot to mention that the idiot...I mean ..err...CEO of Papa John's is a bundler and fundraiser for Mitt Romney.

Fourthly...Prices are determined by the consumer, not the CEO of Papa Johns/Mittens bundler. He apparently hasn't been providing health insurance to a large chunk of his employees and by his own admission will rather pass that cost on to consumers rather than reduce his or others executive pay package by 1%?

Good luck with that...not like the Pizza industry is competitive or anything...

And as one commentator observed...

The usual delivery runs about $20. According to Schnatter, the cost of health insurance to his employees might raise the price about 1%. If it had gone up twice that because of a pepperoni shortage, I doubt it would have made the news at all.

www.cnn.com...

I wouldn't hire this CEO to run a car wash, maybe he should consider raising money for Romney as a full-time job...cuz he can't do math and his Pizza sucks.

Just my 2 cents...

Papa John's pizza is lousy anyway. There are so many small, independent pizza shops who have much better pizza and I'll continue to get my pizza at those places!
But seriously, this guy is a Romney supporter and he's talking about what .11 cents increase in the price he will have to charge for pizza??? This truly makes Romney and the Republican's look stupid and petty.

Corporations do not exist just to keep you in birth control pills or prophylactics.

If you have an IRA, you may be a shareholder in some corporation.
If you have a savings account, you may be a shareholder in some corporation.
If you have a retirement account, you may be a shareholder in some corporation.
If you have a job, eventually, you may become a shareholder in some corporation.
The operative words are, "If you have a job."

How much of the cost of that pizza goes directly into the owner's pocket?
How much if of it is protected from being taxed properly?
I saw the owners house. If he is telling me that I should not pay 14 cents for people to have healthcare but I should pay 12.99 so he can have another wing then I know where not to buy pizza.

Who dies waiting in line in Mass?
You would think I would be able to find one by now.

Is it anything like the people that die being denied help by Jan Brewer because, you know, there is only so much free healthcare to go around?
Yeah, it has to be rationed.

And here I thought the prices would go up due to the price shipping the cheese.... Papa Johns' and Domino's base their costs on the price of Cheese, not their lack of providing any health benefits or living wages.
'You can expect it to raise further from those costs, and it most certainly will. Friends in trucking have told me there isn't much being soft peddled about the changes this forces on them. Add to that fuel spikes for shipping and staple items like Corn and Wheat being wiped out to as high as 20% of the whole national crop. (78% of corn cropland is currently in severe drought status..so I'd read a few hours ago at NOAA)

The per Pizza price is JUST the snowball downhill to offset the enormous jump in labor costs. Obviously, Pappa isn't onboard with a Gov't approved health plan quite yet.

In an economy where nothing seems to go right and our Policy makers have the Midas Touch in reverse...ANYTHING that raises the pain on people 1 penny is a bad bad idea. This is a nightmare...if Taxmageddon doesn't lay us flat on Jan 1.

He is a Mitt Romney supporter who is very very rich and can afford to give his employees that 14 cents himself. Instead he wants to blame his loyal customers who made him so rich and punish them all in an effort to push one political agenda.
Who gives a # what he thinks?

No pizza tastes good anymore. Know why? Because they have all replaced ingredients with "low fat" stuff. And I think they have taken all the spices out of the sauce so that no one has heartburn.
