Anyone who calls Republicans hateful, racist, intolerant, lacking empathy and fearful and yet fails to see the irony of accusing Republicans of smearing their opponents is, well, arguably somewhat mentally challenged.

You don't seem to be answering the question.

Is it wrong to call out someone who says something hateful, racist, or intolerant???

Is it wrong to call out the people of that person's party if they don't rise up and condemn the comments themselves???

I'm very curious if you are able to see the difference between making a hateful comment and calling someone out for making a hateful comment.

For example...you just called another member mentally challenged...is it wrong for me to call you out on that and say that isn't right???

So you are just going to dodge the question...nice.

We can even do this in the debate forums if you would like. The topic will be "People must be mentally challenged to support Obama after the past 3 years".

You can take the "pro" position...I'll take the "con".

Although...my position is fairly simple and straight forward...people have different ideologies and beliefs, it doesn't make them "mentally challenged" if you disagree with them.

So go ahead...educate me.

Bob Dole basically campaigned on the thought that if you didn't vote for him, you were stupid. It worked well...

And what all has happened that you would find it necessary to say Obama supporters are mentally impaired??? I'd love to know...since I support Obama.

To be brutally honest and this is not directed at any ATS poster or meant to insult them BUT

Considering the last 3 and half years and the policies and spending and increase of laws that are well known that have not fixed anything but made them worse.

Don't see too much "higher brain function" going on with those who support them in fact all I see is the majority stuck on their ids.

You're dodging mine. I'm feeling lonely here. Do I have to jump up and down to get your attention? Why should a lame joke, which was apologized for, be a topic for national discussion. You already said that Obama apologized for his gaffe. What makes this different? This guy is just a local yokel. Not the POTUS.

Ok...go ahead and put some detail to that propaganda...you know...numbers...statistics...verifiable facts.

Or wait...maybe you don't have any details...just propaganda???

Oh, so I see...you agree with the GOP chair person that Obama supporters are mentally retarded...how very nice and tolerant of you.

But I can't call you out on that...because that would be me being the one attacking people.

How about you put your own thoughts to words and educate me on why I am mentally challenged for supporting Obama.

Really...debate is useless in seeking truth???

So how do you seek truth...by not talking to others and not putting your ideas against anyone elses...just thinking what you believe is right and everyone else is wrong???

I'm not surprised you won't debate the topic...because it is a strawman to begin with and you probably recognize that you can't successfully debate it...because it is false.

The irony of attempting to claim the moral high ground while smearing their opponents as displaying hate, racism, intolerance, lack of empathy and fear appears to have gone right over your head.

But then you are a liberal. Liberals aren't big on introspection.

Does the inability to be introspective constitute a mental deficiency?

Making a law that a 26 year old stay on their mother and fathers insurance til 26 is not of sound mind clearly from the I want it all I want it now and they sure don't give a crap how generation.

The largest healthcare provider in the country is the US federal Government with 70 million on Medicare and 50 million on medicaid that could not already be paid for then add 30 million new people to those roles.

Spending 6 trillion dollars in 3 and half years.

The class warfare rhetoric rob from the rich and give to the poor to name a few.

Oh, so I see...you agree with the GOP chair person that Obama supporters are mentally retarded...how very nice and tolerant of you.

Didn't use those words and to reitterate a point that has been made time an time again on these boards and they prove it.

Never have seen any tolerance from the left about the majority of anything

I didn't "accuse republicans of smearing thier opponents"??? That is about as useful as accusing the sky of being blue.

I accused the republicans of being insensitive to folks that are in any way unlike themselves and often exploiting that sentiment amongst thier base for political means.

Now...as for this guy...yes, a singular example of a theme and he apologized. So I have no issue with him.

Takes more than one to debate. So far in this thread I'm having a monologue. Care to engage? This will be the 4th invitation.

Well if you can't put your own thoughts into words and convincing arguments

Don't worry...not everyone will call you out when you try with empty rhetoric...so most of the time you will get away with it.

But I will call you out on it...and don't blame me when you look foolish by not being able to respond.

Agreed on most everything, but the resultant debate brings light to various views...those who would defend such remarks or be oblivious to them. Is there no value to that disucssion?

As for the local yokel...yes ...only news in an election year and a highly partisan electorate.

As to his apology...I am good with it...it is those that don't think he should have apologized that I am interested in. What say you?...that discussion worthy?

Why? Because I showed that this guy made a lame joke and apologized on the same day? YOU showed that Obama did the same and you are holding a local guy more responsible for a faux pas than the POTUS?

Not for nothing...but Obama was being self-deprecating about his own bowling skills.

This yokel was likening the handi-capped to Obama Supporters..

One had deliberate political motive and opted to use the handi-capped as the punchline.

No, it has nothing to do with the content of this thread, but with our past interactions. I am choosing not to engage in conversation with you, not the topic.

If you want to see my response to Obama's comment, it is in this thread.

Enjoy the thread.

Same diff man. All blown out of proportion. But this is news? Next up, "Maine man says 'I don't care about the morons that argue on the internet'". Did I just insult morons? And no, I'm not dissing either morons or the handicapped. Just making a point on the ridiculousness of not only this thread but the political system.
