Crisis-hit Spain is to charge parents for sending their children to school with packed lunches.
A daily fee of up to €3 (£2.36) will be introduced when the new term begins next month. The charge — which reflects “the relative cost for the use of the dining room and the supervision that entails” — has been condemned as “barbaric” by parents.

then when all the supermarkets close because they can't pay their employees, then what...? they raid my house, kill me and take my food?
well done, if the aim is to be dignant as they rip each other apart.
businesses are barely surviving here. They do this to a few more, and they will cause thousands of people to lose their jobs. dominos falling. Then entire populations go hungry. Who will open if they know they will have their merchandise stolen?
then what? yeah....more silly illogical and pointless theft.

The people are most dangerous when they are hungry.
I have a feeling this will kick off very soon.
This may turn into another Greece who knows ?
I really feel for the Spanish people and guess it would be the same here in UK but our ability to magic money from nowhere keeps us afloat.edit on 8-8-2012 by judus because: (no reason given)
What infuriatese is the portrayal of Greece or Spain as somehow bad. The enemy in all this are the banks who conspired with small groups of politicians to legalize printing of counterfeit money and then "lend" to governments and stick taxpayers with the interest for money that never existed in the first place.
The most sickening part are the multimillion dollar bonuses just sitting in Swiss bank accounts while innocent citizens are starving. This is the greatest crime in human history.

How can anyone stand by and allow any percentage of their country to starve or suffer, like ritual sacrifices for the greed of the few. EQUALIZE WITH FREEDOM. Find the way to do it in the best way for both things and not the governments way.
I am now going to bed and wlll crying for all these people and all people, I cannot bear that no one get it. People need to stop working, and take to a general strike.
People who have need to sell big homes and create eco farms in such large numbers no government could stop them and start creating energy and food.
Spain are actually leading the way in renewable energy, and if they continue to grow in this area, in the long term this will lead to economic recovery. The chief problem with the Spanish economy if it's dependency on imports, particularly materials needed to produce energy. If they were to mobilise the workforce in a concerted effort to, as you say, create more energy efficient means of growing produce too, then they would be able to release themselves from their trade deficit by increasing their export position in terms of both energy export and produce.
Of course, in large areas of Spain, climate change, is having an impact on the water table, so one way or another, they need to find better ways of using that otherwise useless land. But, either way, I agree with you entirely, and Spain, if it can overcome the water issue, could really turn itself around in this way, and in such a way that would benefit not only the people, but also the overall economy.

so cities across Spain are considering putting locks on the garbage to stop the hungry from eating bad food....then our unions organize to do what....steal from legal businesses so as to give the food to the poor..
robin hood...ok...What happens when the supermarkets close down and those people working there can't even feed themselves....?
What happens when they all close out of fear....angry mobs running around looting and causing mass hysteria...?
This is the beginning of the end here....they are still talking about rescuing the banks....INSANE!
This is just insane...I have no words.....well, I do. The union organizers protesting down the street at city hall better not get any bright ideas with my place...this captain goes down with his ship.....
they are so corrupt, and on top of it, they now organize looting....great.
