The attacks happened in a split universe. We all chose to stay in one that remains generally peaceful. Good choice.

Tomorrow aliens will zap Earth to dust and place a new planet in our phantom DNA, feeding off of death energy. But once again most will just choose a more consistent reality.

"only the paranoid survive"

"only the optimists prosper"

Cool! Hey, can you swing it so that I shift over to a universe where I win the lottery, in spite of not buying a ticket?

I love the term "doom porn fail", there's nothing better that defines this thread.

Though this thread did make it to the front page, I don't think it's made enough of an impact to stop the huge event that's planned for Friday [

Here we are, eight hours into Saturday, and I'm still trying to work out what huge event I missed yesterday. You are conspicuous by your absence today, Mr. Drbatstein. I'd love to hear your explanations on why your prediction didn't come true.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DrBastein! Now perhpas my initial comment is more understandable. Unless ATS does something to stop this kind of trash being spewed out time and time again then it will continue to lose credibility which is a sad thing. It used to be an awesome site but now its a bin that anyone can dump completely speculative paranoid nonsense into.

Its just a shame we'll more than likely never here from the pathetic Dr again.

My post might seem harsh but I get really annoyed with all the bs I have to wade through to find the genuine, really well thought out, intelligent posts.

Indeed..

Back in the day, there used to be a system of banning hoaxers, warning members (3 strikes and you're banned) that stepped out of line and good content to read...

Nowadays, it seems anyone can post anything with no fear of being banned, warned or have their thread binned off to the Hoax section to die a quick death.

In a weird way, ATS is like an online microcosm of modern society. There used to be rules, people were constructive and got things done, the miscreants were disposed of, but like society today the onus seems to be on who can gather the most flags or stars, regardless of the how, with total disregard for the rules and with no fear of effective punishment.

I for one would really like to see a return of the dreaded warn tags and the three strikes and your out rule.

And yes, there does seem to be a bit more of a pre-occupation with stars and flags than there used to be.
Sadly that's just a reflection of society today.

To be fair ATS seem to be caught between a rock and a hard place - criticised for censorship of content when they shut threads down and criticised for not removing them when they are deemed shallow and lacking subsance.

Agreed, everything must have it's place. But until, and even after being hoaxed, should we not still be able to discuss IDEAS, even bad ones?

I think that the failure of these "predictions" is as curious as if they had succeeded. In this grand experiment, we're all just observing ... add to "known data" ... even if only that prediction threads increase, that's data.

What i don't get is all the aggro towards a few geeks discussing strange ideas ... lots of aggression towards to OP. Seems to be the least well thought out of all this.

Of course.

I think one of the biggest problems with many of us regarding the Olympic doom and gloom threads was the shear volume of them.
They were simply everywhere.

Some threads that are proven hoaxes are moved to the HOAX Forum where people can still debate them.
It is possible to read most threads that are closed.
Only a relative few threads are 404'd into non-existence.

Don't get me wrong, I've had issues in the past with ATS's policy of 404ing threads, apparent censorship and certain aspects of it's T&C but I think it has to be recognised that they have an incredibly hard job and can frequently be in no win situations.
My biggest gripe is the occassional inconsistencies in moderation - but that is very much for another time and place.

But it cuts both ways.
Anyone who doesn't automatically agree with these predictions etc are labelled government shills, or blind and incapable to 'read between the lines', there presence on conspiracy sites are immediately questioned and they themselves ridiculed etc.
And why?
For requesting supportive evidence, critical thinking and reasoned thought - the very things that gives this site it's credibility and integrity.

lots of aggression towards to OP. Seems to be the least well thought out of all this.

Yes, and that's regrettable.
But to be fair he really set himself up for it - he consistently refused to enter into any reasonable discussion and debate and seemed to clutch at anything and everything in a random and desperate bid to prove himself true.

If people put their ideas / thoughts / predictions out for public consumption then they should expect them to be scrutinised - if there is any validity in their posts etc then it will survive that scrutiny.
And that is the very essence of ATS - to debate and discuss - it is NOT about just blindly accepting something just because it has a conspiracy angle.
And not everything is a conspiracy - some things are simply just what they appear to be.

There are / were lots of issues surrounding the London games and the Olympic movement as a whole - but it was never going to be about ritual slaughter etc to the NWO / Illuminati etc or a government ordained false flag attack - and the evidence always supported this.

I noticed drbatstein has been on ATS today, yet still no post on this thread - I'm guessing his apology post must be taking him a while to write
