I had not heard of this one before. Two years after I was born. I spent years, starting in my early teens, reading every article on sightings I could find. I find the drawing interesting for the time. It isn't the typical domed saucer usually depicted for that time period. I found the triangle giving it more validity, for some reason I don't even know.

I'll come back and reread the article in the morning. Tired eyes right now. TY for the story...

This is sure not what I expected to see. I have seen pictures of tri-angle shaped flying craft that have lights at each point of the tri-angle. I believe these craft are of our own making with the help of the ETs. I have never seen or heard of one like this one.

Well...the transition from chipping everything into stone tablets, to papyrus, was a headache and all. But, we did it.

You silly goose...it saddens me, there are whole generations of kids growing up on mainly electronic print. Books are becoming things of ancient lore......

Very cool sighting. Star and Flag

Here is a similar encounter where the crew of a B-25 came within 300 feet of a rectangular object.

June 7, 1952; 25 miles east of Albuquerque, New Mexico
11:18 a.m. MST. Col. Harold A. Radetsky, and Lt. Col. George S. Baylan, Pilot and Co-pilot of a B-25 aircraft, observed a rectangular object with dimensions of 6' X 4' of metal construction, possibly aluminum, 25 miles east of Albuquerque. The object was at an estimated altitude of 11,000 feet and was seen crossing the flight path of the B-25 which was at 11,500 feet. The object was estimated to be not more than 250-300 feet from the aircraft

Turns out this UFO was only 25 miles from Albuquerque and only around two months after the incident mentioned in your OP.

Thanks for the reply, brother. That is a crazy sighting you describe, and I'm finding that the "rectangufo" is not quite as Very Rare as I thought. Dig this U.S. Air Force "Spot Intelligence Report" from July 1952:

If you look in Leslie Kean's book UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record, the chapter on the Belgian Wave features a sketch of a BIG low-flying rectangular object that someone reportedly witnessed. They're out there apparently.

Thanks for your contribution, my friend. I like the report you posted. I'm sure Blue Book would have likely slapped some explanation on it if they could have. Funny how all the rectangle reports we've found so far in this thread are from 1952.

It kind of reminds me of the Ufo claimed to have been seen at the scene of the Tunguska incident in 1908. The reports of that Ufo were that it was cylindrical in shape. If at the right vantage point, it would appear rectangular.

This doesn't make sense...

There are well-defined patterns in UFO reports, but saying that a report of a rectangular UFO and a report of a cylindrical UFO resemble each other is a bit far-fetched.
