I've yet to see him run on his own merits, it's about attacking Romney. Always attacking Romney. Anything he does bring up is...I'll do it next, not how it's been done over the past 3 1/2 years..or usually, not done.

Romney needs to go on the offensive or get clear for Paul. Playing 'friend' like McCain will get him defeated like McCain and then...well... Da, Comrade.
