Help, can't remember a word!

Thank you for your help. I am trying to remember a word used here on ATS often. The word is used to describe how the mind sees structures and forms out of chaos.
Darn for 2 days I have been beating myself up and searching the net trying to remember.
I hope someone can help me so I can get it out of my head.
