It would almost be funny if it wasn't so damn creepy.

The internet is essentially (slowly) becoming the telescreen. Omnipresent. To the point to where it's considered suspicious if your entire life isn't visible to everyone at all times. It's almost as if they're using 1984 as a blueprint and updating all the concepts for modern technology.

The stupid part is they can already spy on anyone they want at any time. It's been in the news multiple times that they can get your records from your ISP or cell phone provider with very little effort. Of course it says they can only see where the messages were sent and received but we all know that's a big, fat lie. And I'm sure the spying is much more extensive than that even. What more could they possibly want? I'm sure the Facebook thing is just one more data mining project from which they can extract more information about people to be manipulated and massaged and analyzed looking for "suspicious patterns".

You can use it to your advantage. Like make your facebook site appear all professional like. Post only the right pictures. Right now there is a honesty gap, people do not feel like they are public on the internet, when they are. Soon enough that gap will close and facebook sites of those who have ambition will pretty much look like resumes.

If I was a boss I would only hire people who DID NOT have a facebook, because then I would know they might actually get some work done instead of playing on there all day.

Wow, this is simply ridiculous, nothing else to say about that.

If it's going to continue escalating, I might just delete my Facebook account just to "troll" TPTB.

And no, I don't use Facebook myself, I just have an account because I made one a long time ago. Now I only use it to "spy" on people of interest.

This is pure propaganda, clearly these people are paid to say these things. If anything, facebook is a haven of criminals. I've heard countless stories of people committing a crime, later bragging about it on facebook like an idiot, and getting caught by police who check the site for any leads. Same goes with twitter, a whole bunch of people getting in trouble for saying something stupid and it goes viral. If not having a facebook means I won't get hired, then hey I don't want to work for that company anyway.

First it's about not having a Facebook profile... Next it'll be "why is your profile private, got something to hide?"... Then it'll be "oh look, you have less than 100 friends, something is wrong with you" and finally, "your profile is not as active as others, what are you up to?".....

The only sane thing is not to join facebook twitter etc. Freedom of speech is becoming a thing of the past due to censorship and complaints from over sensitive people. Stay sane and join the human race physically and have fun.

I wonder what is considered young and old? 30's, 40's 50's? So wanting to live a more healthy natural lifestyle away from an abundance of technology makes you crazy? Sounds to me like all those so called psychologists are the crazy ones, someone needs to do a check on them

Now can someone seriously help me? I have a facebook its too late.. I didn't get one until around 2010 because people at school and family members thought it was weird I didn't have one. Yes I am guilty of liking things sharing and making post but I never put my life story or personal things on there. I would love to get rid of facebook. Out of my 400sumthin friends less than 1% I would consider a friend and then when it comes to real friends perhaps only 2 not counting fam lol.I have gone months without using it and when I do its just to see and do funny things and get the thrill of notifications..but they have some of my info and I know I use the max privacy thats available and but big brother still knows. So what should I do delete my facebook or keep it and just operate in the "matrix" for now?

I managed to kick myself OFF facebook.

After trying to make friends with the 3rd person who's name was "Billy Nomates" FB thought that I was not taking them seriously.

I did have a facebook page. But, after awhile I got bored editing, reviewing, and monitoring my page. After the "novelty" of the whole thing wore off, I deleted it. So did lots of other people I know. Facebook doesn't have any staying power, I'm sure most FB pages are "dormant", owned by people who no longer check in to see what's happening, and are just too busy to be bothered to delete their accounts. It took me awhile to delete mine. I did after I'd read a report that says FB is all a CIA/NSA operation to gather info on all your friends and activities, who you know, who knows you, etc..then I decided, heck, I don't even use FB, so why not just delete the account just in case.

This is just more dodgy advertising for the social media. Face book has taken a dreadful tumble as more and more people awake to the fact that it is less of a networking site and more of a data mining spy network for anyone with enough power and money to pay for the information. One day I dream of a world where people and kids go outside, parents actually play with the children and people converse face to face.

Well I haven't seen anyone on ats post an actual photo of themself.. I feel like its just a fun thing to add if you want. My ats username is Hannah my real name isn't. I don't have any real info on here that I know of. Don't know anyone or care enough to add someone as a friend on here (maybe someday lol). The flags and star aren't a big deal it just mean people agree with you or find it instresting or whatever lol.
