I was always wondering if there has been any proof that any mythical beasties have been proven to exsist.

The Kraken was pretty much proven to exist when we found the Giant squid.

The mountain Gorilla and the Panda were both thought to be fantasy of local natives.

Yeah there have, as stated above.

The Kraken was an ancient 'mythical' beast fo the north seas. Basically it described a giant squid... now we know giant squids (evn giant octopuses) do exsist...

Same applies to the Mountain Gorillas of the Congo.

I havent heard about the pandas being thought to be mythical.

The Moas of the sth pacific (or was it the indian ocean) were once thought to be mythical... then they were proven not to be, then they were hunted to extinction...

Many creatures have been thought to be legend and then proven to be real.

Heh, when a taxidermied specimen of duckbill platypus was first brought back from Austrailia, it was believed to be a hoax.
