Really amazing how they managed to pull this off.
Such accomplishment are the things that help give back faith in humanity again.

One day I'll bet you'll be telling your grand kids about how you witnessed this event.

This was a historical moment.

With all the negative crap that gets reported these days, it's nice to see something positive for a change. Also it's been awhile since I've had a reason to be proud to live in the US, it feels good to have that again.

Watching the first pics come across live was absolutely amazing, just thinking of how far away they were being sent from! Makes me feel like a kid again

I thought the field of vision would be bigger than that when the cost of these pictures is $ 2.6 billion

they learned from spirit and opportunity that the wheels needed to be designed better so they made them better.

curiosity is going to drive up a mountain? we wanted to land on a flat surface but she is made to drive up a 30 degree incline i think.

or you could actually just read into this mission and know that you have no clue what you are talking about.

this thing takes better pictures than your phone maybe and it has a video camera on it.

Hazcam images. They are cameras on the underside of the critter. The purpose is to look for road hazards.
In a couple of days, after systems checks, the mastcams will be deployed and we'll see the good stuff.

JPL stated that there are transparent covers over the landing cameras, I'm guessing after the dust settles and the next overflight they will remove the covers and get some better pictures.
I really cant wait for the true color images to come out and even images of the descent, should be a few days before they are released.

The rover didn't suffer a catastrophic crash so the MSM lost interest. If it bleeds, it leads... If it lands, it's bland.

In case anyone closed down the nasa feed, they're doing the post landing press conference now.
