When you say "post", do you mean "start a new thread"?
You can't do that until you've made 20 ordinary posts in reply to other people's threads.
Except that you can start a thread to introduce yourself in the "Introductions" forum, which is there for that purpose.
Make sensible comments on other people's threads, you can easily rack up 20 posts.

Just keep trying.. something will come to you in one of these contests!

The story that got me writer status was a true story; I had two stories in that contest and the one I thought better written was not the one that won writers status for me. One thing is certain, when you write things you know your writing is always better.

Either that or perhaps you can ask the mods if the people who would like to participate in that thread can simply just be given writer status if they ask?

I don't know if they will but if you have a group of friends who want to participate maybe they would do that... I would ask...
