It was late, I was starving, soup sounded good, even if it was canned.

There was seriously like 3 tiny pieces of meat in there. Mostly just potatoes, couple mushrooms.

It was almost 5$ for the can. (Hawaii, everything here is expensive.)

There was no freaking meat in it!! What is going at the Campbells factory?! Complete rip off food wise, and I swear they're putting less and less good stuff in the soups over the years. Even the "Chunky" soups are anything but.

This is getting ridiculous.

I totally agree. I remember about 10 years back the chunky soups were rich, thick, hearty, and full of flavor.

Now they seem watered down and tasteless.

Yeah its a shame, getting more expensive for lesser quality food.

I found a recipe for chicken noodle soup a few months ago and made it, was pretty good and not that expensive. Homemade the way to go

I agree with your comments completely , I know there is a hidden cost to this global recession, Not only are we been asked to pay more for products .we are been asked to do so with less income ...and to top it off the manufacturers are putting cheaper ingredients/parts into the same products were been asked to pay more for.

I know its probably not the factory your campbells soup came from (or maybe it is ?) but..... this video may help you to pretend you have acted out on your frustrations!!

Lol I guess they would say ...no the spoon represents the total amount of 'meat' and potato in the average tin

The next time this happens, call the Campbell's consumer affairs telephone line. They will take your complaint into consideration and at the very least, send you coupons for a couple of free cans of soup. I have worked with various large food manufacturers and most take consumer complaints very seriously.

its how they increase profit margins ... less ingredients ... lower quality in regular size packaging = more profit ... its typical ... only thing companies care about is profits ...

Here is another one. According to the Ingredients list on the side of the pack, Continental Chinese chicken and corn soup has .... 2.2% sweetcorn and .... well ....... they don't mention any chicken at all.!!!!!!!!!! WTF. No chicken. At least you got a hint of beef!

Don't read the label for how much Sodium you just gulped down to preserve that little bit of stuff. You might not keep down the kibbles it did give you. lol...

Well, the can says it is made with "lean" meat......

I have noticed this in other products too...such as frozen meals, the quality and taste has really declined, even in the more expensive "premium" brands....I would have to be really hungry to eat it anymore...I don't know how you could make potatos taste so wierd? lol....but I agree OP....those soups are awful.......

It's not just soup, it's everything

It makes me sick when I go in Tesco and shell out an absolute fortune for my weeks worth of food.
One day i'm going to snap in that place....with their stupid 'offers' and silly £5 off vouchers....£5.00 off, thanks Tesco, thanks a bunch, really helps when I spend £350 a month there. pfft.

Oh, and if any of you muppets from Tesco are reading this, yes, I am the one who keeps emailing you.

If anyones wondering, yes, I have just finished my weekly shop there. Hence the frustration.

You were not paying attention to the fact that your particular choice
of goody, is the most popular on the market.
Even here on the East Coast , the shelves are empty of "Steak and Potato".
You can find all the Clam Chowder as well as Cheddar Potato with Bacon bits
versions you can hold.

There is a conspiracy as to not only why your can was devoid of Chunky Beef
but why it is available in such limited supply.

I'll tell you what, if you grind some fresh black pepper, and add a touch of "Franks"
Hot Sauce, "Steak and Potato" is the best Camp Chow there is.

I can't even find it on the shelf...Maybe you should contact Campbells Corporate Headquarters
and find out what the hell kind if outfit they're running these days,,,,
The information for you to do so is on the side of the can.

Never be afraid to make a difference. Best, Wildmanimal

I will contact them next business week , just so it is a team effort.
Maybe some other interested parties here will consider the same.

Living in Hawai'i makes the OP's point less valid?

That is absurd. People are getting ripped off everywhere, including Hawai'i.

I have a hard time sympathizing with someone who can go to any beach, catch a fish and have fresh sushi.

Call me crazy but that's how I feel.

Maybe he's bored of eating fish or is recovering from mercury poisoning?
