I say kill them because they can't be fixed. Just like you can't cure a homosexual or a straight guy who likes Boobs. These bastards like small children and no program in the world is going to fix them. Zero tolerance for any violent crime towards children is the answer IMO.

I would love for the resources used up on the B$ war on drugs to be redirected to catching these bastards.

Since this story hits close to home, I thought I'd share some more information.

Child pornography research carried out late 2010 in the United States resulted in a picture investigators found out displayed a stuffed rabbit that is very well known in The Netherlands: Nijntje. This is a figure that every Dutch child grows up with, Nijntje books are amongst the most popular childrens books around.

On december 7th, 2010 the picture was shown on Dutch national tv, in a very popular program that deals with unsolved criminal cases. Before the television show ended, the identity of the boy in the picture was determined. Most likely his parents or close family recognized the boy - how horrifying.

On the basis of this idenitity, an investigation was carried out by Dutch police and soon a main suspect was arrested: Robert M. (1983, Latvia).

Robert M. mugshot

Robert worked at a toddler day care in Amsterdam where the little boy was enlisted. He also did parttime babysitting at people's homes, being very skilled in winning the parents trust, backed by his experience at the day care. He has also worked in a foster home in Kenia during a period in 2006.

It was found out later, that Robert M. was convicted of the possession of child pornography in Germany in 2003. This however, was not known by the Dutch people involved with the day care centre and the hiring of Robert M.

Robert M. and one of his victims

Further investigation resulted in the sickening conclusion that Robert M. sexually molested 83 children - the youngest being only 19 days old. Besides abusing the children and making photographic material and spreading it - he was also accused of drugging the children.

During the time he spent in The Netherlands he was aided by 2 men in the production, distribution, encryption and at the same time 'managing' the parents perception. These accomplices were Richard van O. (1973, Netherlands) whom Robert M. was married with since 2004, and Edwin R. (1970, Netherlands) who was an fellow employee at the toddler day care.

Richard van O., Robert M. and Edwin R.

Richard van O. was charged for the possession and distribution of child pornography and the abuse of a 11 year old boy.

As a (gay) couple Robert and Richard tried to adopt a child once, which was denied in 2010.

Edwin R. was charged with the possession of child pornogaphy and having webcam sex with minors.

Edwin R.

The case is the largest and most sickening case of child abuse in the history of The Netherlands. The country was more or less in shock for about a week when it all came out. Investigation showed that the three were most likely part of an international network of pedophiles, resulting in the news from America presented in the original post of this thread.

What gets me most is the punishment subhumans like this get in my tolerant country.

Robert M.
Was found guilty of child abuse and has been convicted to 18 years imprisonment and forced psychiatric therapy after this (in a closed confinement). He can only be released when the medical team deems this safe. In practice however, this could mean that he could only serve 2/3 of his jail time - around 12 years and then some years of fooling the doctors. He could be out in 20 years.

Richard van O.
It could not be proven he joined Robert M. in the abuse. The judge labeled his role to be 'facilitating' only, which means he can only be proven of knowledge of Roberts deeds and not doing anything and even dropping him off at the day care etc. He was convicted to 6 years imprisonment. In The Netherlands this usually means you're out in 4.

Edwin R.
Allthough he was found guilty of possession of child pornography and remains a suspect in the case, he was set free. It will probably be the end of that.

I find these punishments extremely unsatisfying. Even though I agree with the post above that in a civilized world you cannot 'kill them all' without trial, when the judicial system comes up with this sorry excuse for a punishment, I say: ready the stake.

i respect your opinion, you are entitled to it. i understand your anger toward these types of people and i believe you believe what you do for good reason. the crimes they have committed are extremely disturbing and very hard to forgive. but please consider this:

what if they can be "fixed"? what if being homosexual or liking boobs was treated in the same manner as these people? what if the shoe was on the other foot and you were in their position? would you still feel the same way? why not redirect the resources used on the war on drugs, and all war for that matter, on "fixing" these people, and others like them and all their victims.

you may think it is naive to think this way, given the current state of decay the world is in today, but i too have times when i just want to say, "f**k `em, f**k the world, f**k it all". we are living in a time when fake heros and fake idols are worshiped, while true heroes and true patriots are neglected, wars are being waged on inanimate objects, everything is backwards and upside down, who can blame us for acting the way we do? but maybe it is because of all of this, because the world is so f**ked up i just feel there is the need for more compassion, more patience, more forgiveness and understanding, and more love more than ever before.

I find it hard to believe that you seriously consider that? Really? Is there anyone in this world you would trust to be judge jury and executioner? Not me man. If that was attempted to be put into place, it will be civil war, no doubt about it.

I don't think you're fully understanding what I'm getting at. It isn't people who would be ultimately in charge of this. It would be the technology and forensics that we already have at our disposal.

Picture this scenario. A child in France in online talking to friends in America via Skype. A molester breaks through her bedroom window and promptly molests her without giving thought to the fact that the computer and camera are still on. There is no here-say in this case. The facts are on camera. The camera is the judge and jury. Maybe the molester had a ski mask on hiding his face. He will still leave DNA and his overall physical stature, and possibly his voice, will be on camera. Trust me, there is MUCH more to a persons identifying traits than just his face. And cameras aren't just in bedrooms. They're everywhere.

(This is just the tip of the iceberg: www.networkworld.com... )

At that point it's just a matter of tracking him down, if you even have to being that the crime is live on camera, and matching his physical appearance and DNA to the scene of the crime. When those two issues are resolved with 100% certainty, you proceed to take care of business. There's nothing personal about it. All this bull***t about presenting the evidence before a jury is redundant. DNA doesn't lie. It's not a human. A camera image, and even the technology to enhance it, isn't human either. It doesn't lie. It's absolute.

Think about all the technology the world has that we spend so much time bi***in' about, about how it "invades our privacy", and start focusing on how that technology can be used to erase any doubt whatsoever in regards to catching a pedophile. When people start doing that we might start getting problems solved. You know how the average Joe can use his computer to track down someone else using IP's and other identifying traits of a computer? Think about what the Governments and law enforcement agencies have at their disposal. It would make your skin crawl. We have the means to make this happen. Now all we need is the intestinal fortitude to carry though with it.

If people don't want to consider this an option for any adult on adult crime, that's understandable. Kind of. What I can't understand is why people would want to put legal technicalities, which is exactly what all the constitutional amendments are, as a priority over a child who has just been violently scarred for life.

I don't know how you people sleep at night. I really don't.

Legal technicalities? Jesus H. Christ.........
The constitution is not legal technicalities. It is the cornerstone of our civilization.

www.archives.gov...

One example out of many. Section 7 Article 1:

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become aLaw, be presented to the President of the United States

Just about every section in every article of the Constitution has the word "law" in it at least once. I don't see the words "feel" or "feelings" in it at all.

Sorry, but it's a legal document. It should go without saying really that the cornerstone of any society is going to be the laws they set forth. You can put your personal feelings and patriotism in it all you want, that doesn't change the facts. And the facts are that this country was founded by a group of people who wanted to make their own laws because they didn't want to follow someone else's. I'm not making this up, so don't shoot me for stating the obvious.

Besides which, the Constitution of the United States doesn't have much bearing on the case that was presented in the OP. It's an international case.

IMO, and I appreciate your difference in opinion as well, but

People can't be cured as to what excites them or what they are attracted to. A homosexual can't be cured and shouldn't be cured and neither can the guy who likes boobs.

As for your statement "If the shoe was on the other foot" :
If the Homosexual molested a little kid then he should die.
if the Straight guy who likes boobs raped a little girl or women then he should die.

If the Homosexual or straight guy is a drug addict who steals to support his addiction then get them the help they need.

Sorry but I prefer and willing to take the risk of killing a child molester that can be cured (which I doubt is possible) over the risk of another child getting molested. I put more value on the innocent child that hasn't had a chance to live or defend himself over the person who already violated another persons right that is unable to defend themselves.

thank you for your reply. i now have a better understanding of your reasoning which i believe to be sound, putting higher value on the lives of innocent children over the possibility of reform.

i would have to agree that, depending on the amount of damage that has been done, some may be beyond "repair". but i believe there are varying degrees of damage. and for those who`s level of damage is not as severe, who still have the sanity to have sympathy and feel remorse, i still feel they have a chance and that it would be unfair to execute them.

regarding the issue of "if the shoe was on the other foot", i have to apologize. what i meant to say was, "what if you were in their shoes?" i feel that this is something people do not do enough. if you could try to imagine what it would be like to be the victim and what must go through your mind and to imagine the amount of trauma it would take to make you commit the same act to another innocent life. then to have to live with what you have done and your addiction for the rest of your life. would you still feel that it would be justified for people who do not know you who have no sympathy for you, who have no idea of the trauma you have faced and have never experienced anything similar in their own lives, to have them decide that you be executed because they feel there is no hope for your reform?

by senselessly killing without sympathy or remorse, would that not make us cold blooded murderers, or worse since we personally do not even have to get our hands dirty? sounds familiar.
