As a white male growing up in Va there are lots of racist on both sides whites and blacks.. however it is acceptable for blacks to be racist and the racism to be ignored...

Affirmitive action is racism and it also lowers the bar for blacks.. which in turns makes them lazier and stupider.

Equal rights does not mean easier for one race because they are that race.

Equal is Equal and if you support affirmitive action and all the other perks you get for being black your racist.

I'm not talking about anecdotal racist experiences. I'm talking about institutionalized racism, which 99.9% of the time always favors whites in the USA.

How does AA make black people dumb or lazy? They apply to a job and they MIGHT get it. Either way they had to apply in order to be hired.

At least the younger kids seem to be smart, putting their money away for college to get the hell out of there. Getting good grades in school. My generation is all messed up though.

People who talk about AA rarely have any experience with it. Quotas are not mandated by the government, most private organizations mandate them for their own companies. As for hiring practices, no private company is required to practice AA. The only regulation is Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act which outlaws discrimination based on race, national origin, religious creed or sex. AA is practiced by the Federal government and generally by federal government contractors. How does it work? The two candidates are compared and if all their qualifications are equal then the minority candidate is generally chosen. How do I know all this? My mother worked in HR for a federal company (AAFES) for 10 years. I know how it works. If a private company practices AA they do it of their own free will. It's not legally required for them to do so.

So yeah, if you can't get a job try rewriting your resume.

I have heard stories about other minorities abusing welfare, but no first hand knowledge of that myself. My grandparents left the rez, and I # you not, lived in a chicken coop for five years, while working for a farmer and saving for a house. That was back when you could save up and buy a house without a mortgage.......

I used to think it was a BS story they liked to tell, until I seen a few pictures. They busted their ass to get out of that place, no way I disgrace them by going back.

Do you think it is possible that by lowering the bar for blacks, by keeping expectations down because of "what they have gone thru as a race" by making access to welfare and all the other government programs and here is the most important one.... BY TELLING THEM OVER AND OVER HOW MUCH EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY OWES THEM... Just maybe because of these things I've stated has made them just not work as hard for what they want.

This conversation is pointless because you are way too programed... I like you, I think you write well and you engage my thoughts... however you will never admit that those programs actually hurt the black race.. It will always be because the White man hold you back.

Successul people get there from hard work and good decisions. A bit of luck too.

No one is lowering the bar for blacks. Talking about history and current institutionalized racism is lowering the bar? Black people have the only history that whites get offended by if mentioned or talked about.

The whole point is that in most states you cannot stay on welfare your whole life.

Ohio and a lot of other states have LIFETIME YEARLY MAXIMUM limits. You cannot stay on it and pop out kid after kid. You get cut off.

Promising to "end welfare as we know it," President Bill Clinton signed legislation in 1996 to abolish Aid To Families With Dependent Children, replacing it with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families. The new program has a strict five-year limit for cash assistance and requirements that recipients work or participate in job-training programs.

A year later, Ohio enacted its version of welfare reform, Ohio Works First, limiting cash assistance to three consecutive years with two more years available after recipients have been off the program for at least two years. Under eligibility rules, families with household incomes up to 50 percent of the federal poverty level are eligible for cash assistance. For a family of four, that's $884 a month.

That was a great post. It's not really about race at all. Most poor minorities live in the Ghetto, most poor white people live in the trailer park. Both got the same issues going, just different places. I do see most elites are whites and jews, most of the regular people of all races are trying to bale water out of the same sinking boat. Every race has their own idiot "leaders" that do nothing but keep us divided and at each other's throats, keeping the spotlight off the scumbags. It's smoke and mirrors.

Pure baloney, in my experience the ones who cry out racism generally just use that terminology to get a heads up, or an excuse as to why they didn't get a job. I am not saying racism doesn't exist - it does and always will. Ugly fact, but racism is just a part of humanity. Yes, some people will react to you purely on your skin color, but just learn to deal with it and move on with your life (and not everyone is like that)

I believe most of the people who go around shouting down anyone who brings up social justice issues in todays age would be the same people in the middle ages who would turn in their brother's and sister's to the king for not paying their "taxes" to his holiness. All that matters to these people is the privileged lifestyle the "King" (society) affords them for being good submissive tax slaves. They could care less about actually being a human being in a ideologically flawed society, much less could they care about another man's plight to become free from the violent and oppressive chains that shackle him to such a society.

You might want to remember that it is us "tax slaves" that financially support the welfare system.

Whenever a “person of color” is acknowledge in a positive way through the description of skin color or ethnicity (such as, “Jackie Robinson was the first Black baseball player ” or “Bruce Lee was the most famous actor of Chinese descent”), there are White folks who begin to scream “Reverse racism!” as if that has any validity.

I don't know - sounds kind of racist to me. I am a white person and I didn't scream out Reverse Racism when Obama was labeled the first black president....I know some did, but really, you think the majority of white people did?

any local, state or federal policy that has any hint of being specified towards “people of color” (such as, Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity in Education...)

When I was getting out of university I wanted to become a forensic police officer, but basically I was told whites need not apply. I thought that was unfair, and I do to this day. Employment should be based on skill, education and various other factors - not skin color.

The right wing popularized the term “Reverse Racism” because they were really angry at having their White privileges challenged.

Sounds like your the one who is angry . Western society, right wing - you appear of have some racial tendencies yourself.
