Dextrous robotic hand gets thumbs up

There were several older threads going back to 2009 on ATS search. Decided to post this one as it will yet another milestone in the quest for manufacturing humanoids/robots/cyborgs in the future. I can see several good and bad uses of it. I'm sure there will be military applications in addition to civilian applications.

European researchers said Thursday they had developed the world's first real-sized, five-fingered robotic hand able to grasp and manipulate objects with human-like dexterity.

Your thoughts/comments/opinions/viewpoints please.

They "say" they have developed this hand. Wheres the video proof?

That is awesome now just couple this new hand with a thought controlled interface and we could give amputees back most of their ability to function normally. Here's hoping they combine this tech with the interface technology and make a bunch of people's lives better
