'Obama signs secret order to support Syrian rebels'

US President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing US support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar Assad and his government, US sources familiar with the matter said.

Obama's order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence "finding," broadly permits the CIA and other US agencies to provide support that could help the rebels oust Assad.

This and other developments signal a shift toward growing, albeit still circumscribed, support for Assad's armed opponents - a shift that intensified following last month's failure of the UN Security Council

Well this isn't a surprise since most of us already knew this was going on, but now it's "official".

This is the next step in toppling the Syrian government just like it was in Libya. The next steps such as implementing a no fly zone as in Libya will not be as easy though. As the bloodshed continues the media continues it's biased reporting on the situation.

I believe this is going to eventually lead to full out foreign intervention that will spiral into a wide regional conflict.

In my opinion Turkey will be a major player in all of this and Russia will be too. This will be interesting to watch unfold.
