Yes but the planets do line up, according to the Mayan calendar, on that day. The calendar cycle comes to an end. That is not "pop-culture myth."

They are choosing that day to kick out Coke because of the symbolism of the calendar; ie the end of an era and beginning of a new era.

Their president is bat isht crazy. He is an indigenous activist that somehow convinced the entire indigenous population to vote at once for him.

He then kicked the DEA out and let the coca flow. Ruined his country and caused massive inflation.

He is Yanky-paranoid. The "USA is out to get you and that is why your lives suck, vote for me"...types.... He also has illiterate ministers. His motto is, "at least we are honest",

no, his entire tribe drives ridiculous cars and lives in insane mansions. He has one city, where my friend is from. It is considered the Miami of Bolivia because the most wealth is concentrated there. So out of resentment the president publicly and openly makes them second class citizens. He is a declared enemy.Half of them left the country with their wealth and the other half don't even let him enter the city. Like if a guy from Boston became president and he couldn't even enter NY. A city in his own country. Because he says they are bastards he hates.

He is insane. Crime, poverty, inflation, drug trade, just all hell on the rise has been his legacy since even before the crisis.

Insane people rule the world.

Good point... But, i was commenting more on the trend and the specific comments then any content of the article.

it's just something i've noticed happens a lot.
