I don't want to start a culture war here, but the reason Americans can drink so much beer is because it is weak pigs piss. Aussie beer would have them falling on the ground after 2 drinks.

Our military is our face not our jack booted thugs.

Yet they are acting like jack-booted thugs and have done so for quite some time now.

Americans love Australia and MOST Aussies love us.

I never said I didn't like Americans, just whats become of your country and the fact that the majority of Americans cannot see what is happening....then mock and insult the rest of us for pointing it out.

Just look at this thread as an example - some Americans missed my point entirely and went straight for the "American-hater" nonsense.

Just give us a chance IF it happens. You are about to get your southern territories expanded as we do like deserts.

The deserts are really only in Western Australia through to the centre of our country. The rest is farmland and rainforest. Our deserts are some of the harshest in the world, I doubt your guys would last more than 5 minutes without air-conditioning and running water. Not to mention that pretty much every single living thing out there is deadly poisonous and wants to either eat you, or lay it's babies in you.

Will it ever end? I said months ago when the 2,500 Marines were sent to Australia. That was just the start. The real deal is one the way. How can Aussie's stand this, peacefull invasion. Simply put, America likes to fight it's wars in some one else's yard. America if they have to fight China would much rather do it in Australia VS America or China. Some days, I'm simply ashamed of my country.

Not sure if anyone posted this yet,
but AUS defence canned the idea.

www.news.com.au...

THE Government has ruled out basing a United States Navy carrier battle group in Western Australia.
A spokeswoman for Defence Minister Stephen Smith said the US, an alliance partner, had access to Australian facilities plus joint facilities such as Pine Gap.
"But a US base to service a carrier battle group or home-porting here is not in contemplation," she said.

If Obama rings the red headed twit and talks all nice like to her she will cave in. All he has to do is tickle her fancy. She is such an embarrassment. I'm guessing she is holding out for more rent, just to see how much he likes her!

Where the hell are they getting those statistics? I don't remember answering a survey, nor do I know any Aussie that has. What a load of complete and utter nonsense. If this had have suggested that "87% of Australians DO NOT WANT American forces on our soil" then I would have believed that.

This world has gone mad. Completely mad.

Just because you hate America and Americans, doesn't mean the rest of Australia shares your extremist views.

The problem with people like you is that you can not differentiate between select American foreign policy, and America it self.
You are an extremist who is just as disgusting as the Islamic extremists who blow sh** up.

Whether you like it or not, America and Australia are strong, close allies, and will remain that way for many decades to come.
Whether you like it or not, Australia's defence is built around plans that involve American involvement.

Whether you like it or not, Australian and American military co-operation is going to continue to expand, evolve and grow.

Whether you like it or not, this is a positive thing for Australia.

See, unfortunately for naive individuals like your self, the world isn't a peaceful place where everyone wants to get along.
The world has never been peaceful and it never will be. There will always be wars and conflicts, and there will always be groups who can not get along with other groups and will be more then willing to die trying to kill the other side.

You want to blame America for all the worlds problems? Go ahead. It only shows how ignorant you are, and how shallow your knowledge is.

The Chinese are already making military moves in the South China Sea, in disputed waters.
Just wait till they actually use force to take what they claim.
If you think that is where they will stop, keep dreaming and living in your little utopian imaginary world in your head.

There is a reason why the Americans are repositioning in the Asia Pacific and will be shifting most of their naval power to this region. It's called China.

Europe is able to stand on it's own now. It has no threats. The Russians are a shadow of their former Soviet selves. Sure, they have a massive nuclear arsenal that can wipe out life on this planet.
But they aren't about to send the tanks storming across Europe.

And as for the claims that Australia will become a target of nuclear weapons because of this, I say to those people, WAKE THE HELL UP.
Australia is ALREADY a nuclear target. It has been for many decades.
Just because you live under a rock and choose to live in ignorance doesn't mean squat.

If you think if we kick all Americans out of Australia, that that will suddenly make Australia a neutral, no-go zone and the Russians and Chinese will re-target their nukes to other places besides Australia, you are dreaming and living in lala land.

God damn leftist fools.

You didn't read through the thread did you? Might I suggest you do so before making even more of an ass out of yourself?

Take your "Anti-American" and "America-hater" nonsense elsewhere. I have fully explained, MULTIPLE TIMES, that is not the case, in this thread and MANY MANY times over the last 4 years on ATS. I can back up my claims of this with a MOUNTAIN of evidence.

But by all means, keep whinging and crying and labeling me an "America-hater" because you don't like what I'm saying. It tells me all I need to know about your level of ignorance.

As to the rest of your ridiculous and ignorant post, it is just more arm-flexing, fearmongering nonsense.

EDIT TO ADD: You're calling me an extremist? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
that's hilarious, thanks for the laugh mate

I have a question....Where is the United States going to get the money for all this. We can hardly pay our debts now, how can they get blood out of a turnip. I suppose the US figures they will take over the world so they don't have to pay the money back.

Aussies got to make sure whats decided by the military - no US base stands true. Dont let the Eagle land in the area or else we can expect tension growing.

I suggest raising the awareness in your country about the matter. Save your energy here to be use where you live. Debating with these proud people will get you nowhere. Contact the opposition party about this matter to get it highlighted (even if you dont support them). Be a proactive about raising the awareness, act now before its a "Yes". Once a yes, do expect to live in fear. Its much more better to live in peace than having a golden clad bunker. Once you have base, everyone else also want base.

Socialist Democratic and America allied ? Now thats a starter.
USA befriend with Aus to have SEA oil. There you go, why US want bases in Aus, its never really about Aus. Its more about the SEA oil. Expected date for monopoly - 2015 - 2020
Yankee Go Home, we dont want your war game.

This is how I see it:

China has rapidly risen to the point where it threatens to knock the US off it's perch as "Top Dog". The US, in all their arrogance, can't stand the thought of not being the worlds only superpower and are frantically scrambling to get a military leg-up on China before China forces a Mutually Assured Destruction stalemate. All the while, the US is spending itself into oblivion to stroke it's own ego.

Doesn't help that Americans have been subjected to 50 years of "America is the Greatest" propaganda - making them believe they have some sort of god-given right to be the world's superpower.

It's time the reins changed hands. The US had it's go and screwed it up royally.

That is a rather simple take on things. But consider this, the US GDP equates to 25% of the worlds nominal GDP today. China is roughly 9%. I don't know how familiar you are with economics in general, but China is on some very shaky ground. 50+% of all Chinese GDP is based upon fixed investments. This is actually where most of Chinas economic activity has come from in the past 20+ years. This type of growth has greatly improved Chinas standing in the world. But this type of growth comes at a terrible cost. Its unsustainable.

Due to this investment scheme for continued growth "beyond any and all measures", we see that it has resulted in a massive amount of overcapacity and supply in China. This has created the illusion of growth, but it really amounts to a bunch of IOU's that is creating a massive nonperforming loan problem. This is essentially what happened in Japan, South Korea, Spain, and Dubai. Like these countries did, and still do, China faces several bubbles that will more then likely derail the middle kingdoms aspirations for an economic equilibrium with the United States. China faces a credit bubble, a real-estate bubble, as well as a commodity bubble. This will be a real problem for countries like Canada, Brazil, and yes, Australia. Mainly because these countries depend on China to continue to artificially stimulate commodities.

As for the thread, I personally would love to see a decrease in the US military footprint abroad. America has essentially been subsidizing defense for Europe, Japan, and Australia for the past several decades. I would like to see this come to an eventual end.

While I agree that US military expansion must come to an end, can you provide some evidence that the US subsidises defence for Europe, Japan and Australia? Japan I almost believe, but the others I find it difficult to.

What I mean by subsidization is mainly in force projection capability. When the USSR was threatening to attack Europe, it was the US military umbrella that kept the USSR at bay. To this day, European military budgets remain relatively low due in no small part to that military umbrella that still exists to this day. We also have several bases for forward deployment throughout much of Europe. These bases really serve as command structures in the event of a major conflict. But as we all know today, the USSR is gone, and Europe can defend for itself. Yet US bases scatter the European country side in the event of war.

I would also consider current subsidization in military hardware. The F35 is a good example of this. The US has pumped over $150 billion into this particular program. You could add F18s, F15s, and a plethora of ammunitions to the list. But I have less of a problem with this type of subsidizing than I do with forward deployed bases all over the map.

Have you alerted the opposing party regarding the matter ?

Go alert them before anything happen, that is YOUR job. Understand what I have posted, get the links and explain to the opposing party about what USA want to do to your country. Its never about Australia, its all about Brunei/Spratly oil reserves and control over SEA. Your country is just a donkey for them.

Debating /chatting this with us wont help the matter. You the one who must act.

Funny, as multicultural as I am, I have family in Australia too. They are farmers. Not once, on their visits have I heard them TRASH America.

We don't trash Americans that's why, ask them about American bulls#$% you will hear trash talk then & rightly so.

Economic jitters continued to reverberate around the world yesterday with Australia not immune to the pain being felt globally. The Australian dollar sank to its lowest point against the US dollar in almost eight months, hitting 96.34 US cents at the end of five weeks of straight losses against the greenback.

Australia feels pinch of global crisis

Come again?

If you insist.
1.00 USD = 0.954502 AUD
US Dollar ↔ Australian Dollar
1 USD = 0.954502 AUD 1 AUD = 1.04767 USD

What I am saying is YOUR COUNTRY hasn't done enough for its aboriginal peoples, and is going down the path America has taken. If he wanted to wear his colors, regardless, he should. America has went down this road also. Its standing up for your rights, and freedoms. BTW, it was HIS peoples country, long before it was yours. That's a respect thing.

BTW, its been done before, and damn the rules..............

I am sorry, if I derailed your thread in any way. Please continue demonizing America.

Peace

That's a joke right? You obviously know nothing of indigenous affairs so why make yourself look like an idiot.

Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut & let people assume your an idiot that to speak & prove the fact.
Thanks for proving the fact.

What exactly have we failed to do for the indig people? You do understand, free land, free housing, free car, free health/dental care, better welfare payments, cheaper community housing payments, Different laws for them, university positions held for them, cheap interest rates for loans, free money & support to start a business, food to go to school, we even cut them a check if they finish school & the list goes on.
We even gave them a grand appolagy and remember the mistakes of the past every year, whilst conveniantly ignoring the white kids in state care issue and giving them a half arsed appolagy at best.
So please spare me your ignorance.

As for the Olympics he should have been sent home & Cathy freeman should have been dragged from the track in disgrace. They are there to represent their country not their cultural background. He knew what the reaction would be & did it anyway, shame on him for trying to segregate the Australian people. Maybe all the Anglo Aussies should start wearing the union jack ohh but they would have their bags packed for them if they did that. Think about it.
Now what do you think would happen if an American steped up with some white power salute?

Any one who thinks this country is defenseless doesn't know a dam thing about Aussies, those that held of the Japs at Kokoda weren't our special forces they were a bunch of left behind Melita, our real troops were to buisy being sacrificed by American & British pride/incompetence.
However you can thank America for how limited our defenses are, so if we need a US carrier group it's because America has been systematically knee capping us since WW2.
