Think it's impossible to beat the lottery? Think again because apparently there's a way.

Mass. Lottery knew about exploited game's flaws for years, IG says

Sullivan's report details the way a handful of math and science wizards, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology undergraduates looking for an interesting school project, turned Cash WinFall into a nearly fulltime business, spending $40 million on tickets over a seven-year period and winning an estimated $48 million.

Ahh, those MIT kids at it again! Putting those brains to profitable use.

Can't blame them for trying. They found a loophole so to speak, and worked it.

I applaud them.

yes, when the lottery reaches a certain amount, depending on the crieteria the lottery uses, number of numbers needed to win etc.

It is possible for it to become economically feasible to simply purchase every possible winning number.

You just better hope no one buys the winning number as well, as that can cause the winnings to dip back under the amount you spent.

its all about tipping the odds in your favor, many of these same tactics will work in casinos as well.

Its why theirs 00 on the roulette wheel, tipping the statistical odds any way has a huge effect on the odds of winning.

Yep, and table limits.

I saw a friend of mine turn $50 into over $8000 on a roulette wheel, and then they decided to break him, and the table hit red 17 times in a row, while he kept upping his bet on black until he was beyond the table limit. He asked for a waiver to go beyond the limit, and it was denied, and his money was gone.
