Even more proof the the Police forces in the UK are nothing more than Totalitarian scum!

I hope whatever sheriff or judge that gets this case can stop bumming whatever rentboy he's with this week long enough to impose custodial sentences on them, because we burn beasts in the gaol's here!

The sad fact is most of the porky beasts will get off with a reprimand and community service, lets hope its not working with children.

Sad evil piggy scum should burn!

Out of 1300 people arrested 3.8% were police officers.

On ATS, a site where everything gets questioned, where the media is constantly scrutinised for biased report to fool the masses in support of "them".

Most of you get tricked into some articles like this one that is almost only taken seriously as the heading suggests 50 police officials are involved, but what about the other 96.2% people that was involved?

On a site like ATS where media is controlled by "them" its just so easy to trick you into chaos. Its nearly funny.

I dont think it matters what percentage of officers where arrested vs. percentage of joe public they are custodians of the law, and as such are required to uphold the law, not to break it in such a disgusting and vile manner, hypocritical, dirty bastards!!! putting aside that they are contributing towards the people that distribute this stuff, and encouraging them to ruin children's innocence and cause them physical and phsychological damage for the rest of their lives, they are also putting themselves above the law, and no-one is above the law, and i wager that these officers that where charged are the type to try and use their station to intimidate people!! a poster above said he would reserve his judgement because of the old saying "innocent until proven guilty"....it's not like that anymore, when it comes to dealing with authorities anyway, I know this from personal experience, as I've had a lot of personal experience with the police and british justice system in the past(was'nt always an angel!) the way they look at you is GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY!!!! And when someone is dragged through court, sent to prison, then a few years later they find the real person that did the crime, you dont even get a sorry or by your leave, just "oh, you can go, wasnt you after all" but even then they still try to make you feel guilty about something, as they give you that "but we're gonna be watching you anyway" kind of attitude. Dont get me wrong, I'm not anti authority, the police are there to do a job and we do need them, but I cant stand hippocritical, corrupt police officers, especially since the ones that are corrupt are usually the ones that come down the hardest on other law-breakers.
Rant officially over....
PEACE!!!

edit on 31-7-2012 by DARREN1976 because: spelling..

My point is just, sure its horrible that police officers were involved, but its under the hype on this website that most police officers join the police to be criminals, my point is just in this case by the little police involved compared to joe public, they wernt involved because they are police officers but they were also part of joe public. And yes they are hypocritical, these 50 guys, but they are the minority!

People go on and on about "their" agenda and they go on and on about the 50 policeman, but all I see is 1300 people, so its a social issue of what's wrong with these people? That's the issue

Just to add people on this site also go on and on about propaganda, but I'm not convinced there were 50 police officers involved, maybe they were reserved or janitors, we ALL know how the media twists the truth to create sensation... But when it confirms a biased opinion against law enforcement, especially on this site, all of a sudden journalists are heros and honourable.

Double standards.

Fifty police officers across the UK have been arrested as part of a crackdown on suspected paedophiles who pay to access child pornography websites, detectives revealed today.

Of the 50 policemen identified, eight have been charged to date and the remainder bailed [/b ]pending further inquiries. Scotland Yard said none of those arrested today was a policeman.

My thoughts exactly - but lets not let the facts get in the way of a good story!

Shall I point out the facts here? Operation Ore was not a successful operation, but a gigantic ##snip##, largely because someone shot his mouth off to the press before the investigation was done properly.
As it turned out, many of the suspects, including some of the Old Bill, were actually victims of identity theft. Their credit card details were stolen and used for buying the indecent material. Anyone can be implicated in any crime through identity theft.
Think how many innocent peoples' families and lives were destroyed because of this.

I should add very few investigators had any formal training in digital forensics at the time, and there would have been very few people around capable of questioning an expert witness.

They mention in the article that it was "operation ore" which as my google tells me was in 1999 with a follow up in 2001 in the US.

Wiki - operation ore

So while it's not new news, it still makes horrifying reading 10 years later.

I believe you are confused. This news is from today, the article talks about the arrests happening this morning so I'm unsure how this is not considered new?

Are you saying this article is over ten years old with today's date?
edit on 30-7-2012 by Corruption Exposed because: (no reason given)

Yes I am saying this is an old news article. If you go to the home page of the Daily Mail ( awful paper, always complaining about immigrants and single mothers) you'll find that this isn't mentioned. If this was new news it would no doubt be one of their top stories. More evidence that it's old news is that it mentions Operation Ore which is a well documented online on numerous websites. As The Mail doesn't put dates on their old articles it's easy to think it's a new story. I don't blame you for thinking it was a current story, I'd forgotten about that particular investigation and I think most other posters had as well.

Isn;t it amazing how many users here have made their mind up after reading a headline, just because it suits the narrative they are peddling?

Perhaps anyone who has jumped the bandwagon here might want to find out a few facts about the operation - and its fundamental failings - before getting on their soapbox.

If this story is as old as some members are claiming, perhaps the mods should move this to the "Social Issues and Civil Unrest" forum.

If it's not breaking news it's still a story worth discussing. As I said in my OP we can't rush to conclusions but there was evidence against these people in order for them to get arrested. It's not rare for people in a postion of power to use their authority to victimize people. I'm surprised that some of you are defending these pedophiles and labeling this thread a case of "cop bashing".

Let's not let the facts get in the way

I suppose i also have a warped view.
You base your opinion on feelings but if you would look into depression a bit you would find staggering numbers of depressed people that have been abused as a child.

Define "abuse".

The definition of abuse seems to depend on the motives of the person using the claim. I could claim that I was abused because I was smacked for eating all the cereal. My sister had Social Services involved with the care of her kids because of their father being genuinely abusive to her, and she was told that SHOUTING at her kids was "abuse".

I know a few people who suffer from depression and take medication for it, none of them were abused as a child.

I fail to see how this relates to the story at all.

The fact is that far too many people believe the tabloid press and they think all Muslims are terrorists, every stranger is a pedo, every person on benefits is a scrounger and every kid in a hoodie is a thug.

They do have a warped view of society. The idea that people cannot trust anyone is the dangerous thing here. Common sense is a good thing, fearing the world and the society around you based on a tabloid story is not a good thing.

Like I said, the suspects were arrested on the back of credit card numbers that turned out to be stolen, and the investigation was wrapped up prematurely because of a security breach. If the evidence against the subjects was that weak, that flawed, why shouldn't we call BS on what the Daily Mail published?
The old 'no smoke without fire' argument has no relevance in cases like this, in which there are half a dozen ways innocent people can be incriminated.

I believe you misunderstood my post. First of all I said "some" not all, so that does not indicate "everyone". Also, that comment was directed to members who are hinting that this thread is cop bashing. Their posts hinted that exposing a pedophile cop is cop bashing which is not the case. If a cop turns out to be a pedophile and breaks the law it should be made public.

I was quite clear in my OP (if you read it) that we must not jump to conclusions.

I wish I could say I am suprissed at who was 'nicked' / arrested but I am not.

Back in the late 70's a lady by the name of Cynthia Payne ran a brothel for MP's and judges.
She was later raided by the police (how ironic with the original posters story) and served a small time in prison.

A film was also made of this called 'personal services'.

Wikipedia has an article here

The point that I am making is that the UK promotes this stiff upper lip crap yet under the skin of society there are some of the most deprived and sick individuals doing there jobs and protecting society.

how weird is that ?

One thing to note people is that this story is news now but watch how quickly this will just fade out into oblivion.
These 50 coppers will just disappear and nothing will happen to them.
After all the police ARE above the law.
Take what happened to this policeman

You have a very warped view of society. There are not massive pedo clubs all over the world, there is a minuscule minority of society who are quite severely twisted in this way.

This is why I hate stories like this, it scares people into thinking the problem is gigantic. It makes people suspicious of everyone. It creates a society where the view of a person is distorted and twisted so much that neighbours suspect people of things they would never ever remotely be capable of.

As for the story itself, I lost trust in the police when I saw the figures for the number of deaths in custody. Or was it the time they were caught assaulting someone on video? Maybe it was when they killed that guy in the protest and then tried to cover it up. No, it was the time they were caught on film dragging a disabled man from his wheelchair. No, my mistake, it was the time they were caught selling information to the tabloids. Oh, wait, it was the time they were filmed riding on horseback into a crowd of protesters and beating students over the head.

Well, whichever one of those instances it was, it made me realize that the vast majority of police are simply organized criminals in their own special club where they all look out for each other and do whatever they need to do to assert their Mafia-like dominance over the population.

What crap! You list a few instances and now its the "vast majority" how disrespectful can you be?

Its like listing a few black people in gangs and saying the vast majority of black people are criminals, wtf is wrong with you?

YOU have a warped perspective. How many 100 000's of police officers in America alone take part in organized crime? The vast majority you say?

And the vast majority of muslims are terrorists probably?

ETA: thousands of children get trafficked to the superbowl every year to work as sex workers, does this mean that the vast majority of football lovers are pedos?
edit on 31-7-2012 by kykweer because: (no reason given)

Police corruption requires institutionalised corruption. The officer who beats a person with a club for their own enjoyment is witnessed by their partner and other colleagues, the complaints are handled by those colleagues and their superiors. This continues throughout the system. THAT is the difference here.

One example -

In New York, a group of female protesters were attacked by a senior NYPD officer spraying them in the face with pepper spray. At least five officers witnessed this. Several of them facilitated, one even expressed disbelief of the illegal action. None of them assisted the victims. None of them made official complaints or later expressed any desire for explanation or investigation.
Many witnesses filed complaints with the NYPD and Mayors office. All of those complaints were ignored.
Video evidence of the event was captured and used as evidence.
The NYPD and Mayor of NY refused to take action even with this video, expressing that "reasonable force" had been used.
The officers involved were then publicly outed, with their personal details spread throughout the internet. Civil cases were brought against the officer responsible, and then, and only then, did the NYPD admit that they were wrong and that their officer did not act with reasonable force.

This took all of the officers on duty to collude, all of the officers' senior staff, the NYPD itself, the Mayors office and any "independent" investigators who should be monitoring police activity. They ALL looked out for each other, ignored criminality, tried to cover it up, or simply tried to pretend it didn't happen.

This happens all over the world, every day, with officers protecting each other and refusing to act in the best interests of the people. They are a gang, a club, a group of powerful individuals who will act as they wish and only answer to the people who pay their wages when their backs are against the wall and they have no other option.

There are plenty of other examples I could use.

There are good people in the police force, I know there are. But the force itself is the problem. You can have thousands of well-meaning individuals who genuinely do want to do a good job for their community, but none of that matters if the people and the system they are working under is corrupt to the core. THAT is why I do not trust any of them.

The druggie who runs the packages and cash from one place to another is still a member of the gang, even if he would never rob someone himself.
