Video: Mom Ditches Baby at Walmart After Shoplifting

Police arrested a 19-year-old mother who they say ditched her baby in a shopping cart after she got caught stealing at an Ocala Walmart.

In surveillance video, Allison Niemeyer is seen running through the store parking lot, followed by her sister, Laura. Police said they left behind Niemeyer's 1-year-old son.

"When the loss prevention officer asked her, 'Are you going to come get your child?' she said, 'It's not my child.' And she continued to leave, and they both abandoned the baby," said Maier.

Police said Niemeyer was on probation, serving 10 years of house arrest for her role in another crime. "She committed a home invasion, a robbery, a very serious case. And she was pregnant actually at the time of that home invasion," said Maier.

Well that's a horrible mother. Didn't she wonder what was going to happen to her kid? Or even get worse criminal charges added on? She was already on probation and house arrest for 10 years. Some people really shouldn't have kids.

The way she just ran and didn't even look back at her child, And being found in a nightclub partying of all things! This Girl does not deserve to get her child back, Your right Some people should not be allowed to have children, She should be sterilized!

That child will be soooooooooooooo much better of with foster parents. Some people should just not be parents.

When I did Asset Protection I saw a lot of messed up parenting. People would hide merchandise in their kids stroller, under the kid sometimes. People would load a cart, then make their kid push it into the parking lot. Pregnant women were naughty pants too.

Yeah sorry dude, I'm gonna stop the kid and then come after you. I always called the cops on these even if I technically didn't have to. At least none of these parents actually left the kid or tried to fight.

I hope the child finds a good loving home and doesn't end up like the mother. Poor little thing.

ETA DAMN she's fast. I was in REAL good shape back then and not sure I would have caught her. I would have been more aggressive on the stop though. Come in from the side, grab that arm and turn em. They get jumpy and chicken neck that wrist.

hold on a sec while I pick my jaw off the ground,are they that stupid?I'll answer that,yes they are.
Did they really think they were going to get away?jeez some people are so dumb.That poor baby hopefully she won't ever get him back and he will go to a family who will love him and cherish him.
God this makes me so angry...

I can imagine that whatever clothes they stole none of it was for the baby,selfish arseholes

It is sad that BOTH her and her sister ran away abandoning the baby.

Maybe this was just an extension of the "take a penny, leave a penny" tradition. She took some merchandise, she left a child laborer for Walmart's sweat shops. Everybody wins!

But seriously, kids like this used to get abandoned at the front door of the orphanarium, now they get left in the costume jewelry aisle of the local Walmart.

When I read this story the first quote that popped into my head was something I used to here alot as a teenager...

"Gene Police! Out of the pool now!" Some people should not breed...or in this case not have custody.

The judge (if she even showed to a child custody hearing) should simply say "That's not your's right?"

You are right, some folks should not have offspring.
If she stole food, i could understand and even sympathise, but clothes...
But to leave your principal reason for breathing...

Dread to think what kind of upbringing the mother and aunt had, Hopefully the child will be put with a great foster family and not thrown around different family member's that say are willing to take care of him, so at least then the child has a chance in life and wont be thieving and neglecting his children at their age!

WTF they arrested her the next night partying it up at a dance club, all the while knowing she abandoned her kid at a store.

I hope she does some hard time for this.

Horrible mother, hopefully her child is placed in a better home! She doesn't deserve him.

The boy was put in the custody of the Department of Children and Families and police started searching for his mother and aunt. It took more than 24 hours before police found the Niemeyer sisters and arrested them outside of a local dance club, according to the Gainesville Sun.

The Niemeyer sisters were each charged with felony child neglect and retail theft. Allison was also charged with violating her probation; she's under house arrest until 2021 for a 2010 home invasion with a firearm, media reports said...

What a sad story. I'm not much of a law and order kind of guy as I am against most laws and the "people" who enforce the "order" aren't any better but this broad surely needs to have a few books thrown at her. Already serving ten years house arrest, if I heard that right, and she's out with her kid stealing from Wallyworld. As the kid got older this chick would make a horrible role model. Understatement of the day, for sure.

I don't pull stunts like stealing from business but I am certainly NOT a angel and I knew this a long time ago which is why I decided then to not have kids. I'm better off and my unborn kids are most certainly better off not having me as a dad. It's too bad some people cannot figure this out.

Pathetic.

What great example she is setting for her son. This type of story just turns my stomach. Seriously. This reminds me of the story of a 3 year old little boy abandoned at a shopping Mall a few years back where a father who killed the mother dumped the kid and made his get away.

Meanwhile, the News report showed the little boy sitting with the police reviewing the Mall security camera footage to Identify the father and the little boy thought he was helping the police find "His lost Daddy" meanwhile, the poor kid's life was totally changed forever

As a parent it broke my heart.
