Where is the part where tanks where called in? The tank footage at beginning seemed unrelated footage.
Is there another source for this?

Anyways this is awful that they can force you to put your child on these drugs.
I wouldn't want my child on them
It usually starts off with them suggesting Ritalin for your fidgety child. That's really just a wonderful lively child

I think some parents are just pushovers, they believe what doctors sugggest all too easily, because they haven't educated themselves on the dangers, they just go along with doctors suggestions. They just don't know and have too much trust.

Has anybody ever read Danielle Steels book about her son who took his own life? I had to put it down 3/4 the way through because I couldn't take anymore of her ignorance on pumping these drugs into her child. Of course he struggled all of his life on and off all these bad drugs, starting with Ritalin, in and out of psych wards. No wonder he killed himself. I know that's not nice to say but it was my honest observation on reading her story. He was age 19 when he died. Could she not see it was the drugs doing this? I could sure see it on every page I turned to read. Such a sad story of a mother who didn't appear to have a clue. He didn't appear to have any real mental problems.

Because of the many problems Traina exhibited from childhood, his life included a number of psychiatric hospitalizations for drug abuse and for treatment of bipolar disorder. While his mother wrote that she tried everything at her disposal to get him the proper medical help, Traina at 19 died of a self-administered morphine overdose at the home of Julie Campbell; a family friend.[2]
Traina was interred in Cypress Lawn Memorial Park cemetery in Colma, California. His mother told his life story and of the struggles with his illness in her 1998 book titled "His Bright Light: The Story of Nick Traina."
[edit] Nick traina
.

Everything at her disposal was actually every drug they can try. It's a recipe for disaster.

They end up hurting themselves or others. So sad.

What really gets me is that most Americans still believe they are FREE!

I also find it ridiculous that there's so much backing for intervention in other countries business, such as Syria, when if the population in the US was to take up arms in anyway (like the 'freedom fighters' in the Syria and elsewhere in the ME), government forces would SMASH any resistance and with LETHAL FORCE!

Anyone who says it wouldn't be so, needs to pull their heads out of their posteriors.

There's so much proof of what the US government is capable of doing to its citizens, I'm sure I don't need to provide and examples.

So you and your girlfriend have this problem.
You might want to keep in mind That Bi-Polar is Heritable. You would not want your children to go thru this would you?
Your problem is likely stress and diet related. Too much MSG and Aspartame??

So the subject child had other problems....
And the mother locked herself in her house....
Regardless...law enforcement had no business getting involved. It is not their job to make you take your meds nor to make you give them to your children.

I would Have locked myself and child up also if I knew that I was going to be forced to give MY child meds that had such a strong negative affect on them! Were other options and medicines discussed or tried? Maybe there isn't enough info here to form such strong opinions, or is it possible the MSM put a particular spin on this story? I believe most of us are in an uproar over the simple fact that the PTB stuck their noses where they DON'T belong.

I have not seen another source posted for this "incident". Can someone please show me some kind of written document about this? So, you know, I can find out who was in the wrong.

Yep, confirmation bias will do that, leading to selective reading and just like sleeping in a cave all day long only to come out and point at the nighttime sky and declare you see no evidence of a sun you have ignored the links that were provided in this thread so you can now place quotation marks around the word "incident". Of course, you could have easily Googled Maryanne Godboldo and found plenty of corroboration for this story, but no, you instead pretend like there were not links provided by you in this thread and so it must only be an "incident".

Is there an actual Link / transcript to this story?

Something I can follow up?

I did browse each page - - sorry if I missed it.

Right, so me asking for some kind of proof that is not spliced footage and scary background music is "confirmation bias"? I asked for some kind of sources, you claim there is one already posted. I didn't see it and yet instead of re-posting it to enlighten my ignorance you chastise me for not instantly taking a youtube video at face value

Unfortunately, searching the thread for a name to Google with would be time consuming. Her name was said in the video, but I don't know how to spell it. None of the information required for a search was available. Not only that, why should I have to sit here and guess at her name spelling when you could have just (re)posted the links for me since I obviously missed them? This is the kind of thing that should have been in the op to begin with.

Tell ya what, I have found her name now. I will post my thoughts and we can take the discussion from there.

www.wxyz.com...

Maryanne Godboldo’s attorney says when a CPS caseworker came to take her 13-year-old daughter in March – Godboldo demanded to see the court order authorizing the child’s removal from her home. Allison Folmar says her client never got a good look at the order before the situation spiraled out of control, with allegations that Godboldo fired a shot, followed by a lengthy police standoff. Read more: www.wxyz.com... 7dyAtR

“The order was never verified; it was never confirmed as to whether or not this is actually an order. The police met the CPS worker on the street, she hands them a piece of paper that is not officially filed with the county, it has a rubber stamp, and it’s not completely filled out,” said Folmar.

Never mind the fact that I have all ready posted links to other sources verifying what is shown in the video of the O.P., instead of you using Google to investigate for yourself, you now think it is righteous to take me to task for not re-posting a link that was all ready posted. On the one hand you want us to buy that you ask for these links to further investigate but in doing so you only reveal you haven't bothered to investigate at all.

I'm sorry. But once they show up with guns and tanks, it is a war.

The day they show up with guns and tanks is the day that I die.

I don't think I would be able to be calm and level headed like that mom is. Dammit, I am free and will not have to prove it in court. It is a shame that this lady had to ask for her rights rather than just live them.

^^^
This.
Thank you OP, I am just at a loss that this happened at least a year ago, and this is the first I heard of it. I have no other word than WTH? I guess that's words, but W/E. I know a few police officers, and I'd like to think they would see this and say, "that's wrong" and I'm sure some would.

Push come to shove, there are some things I will die for, this is one of those.

Thanks.

From a non-emotional viewpoint. This was probably a dangerous area of Detroit. #1 protect law enforcement.

Law enforcement does not make decisions - - they only enforce them.

Personally - - I'd say the tank and SWAT - - - reveals more about the area they went into then anything else.

The focus here is backwards to me. Kind of reminds me of that kid recently - - who was brought to the US because of a large tumor. He is from the most dangerous area in Mexico and was driven out in an armored car.

For me - - the dramatization should not be about the precautions required to protect law enforcement.

There is always more then one side. Kind of difficult to really know in this one.

The situation first caught headlines when 58-year-old Maryanne Godboldo entered a standoff with Detroit Police in late March that lasted nearly 12 hours. It began when Maryanne fired a shot at a CPS worker and police escort who arrived at her home in an attempt to take her 13-year-old daughter. CPS workers were there to take the girl after reports surfaced that the mother refused to give the child needed medication. Maryanne Godboldo has said the state wanted her daughter to take a drug for psychosis, but she favors a holistic treatment. detroit.cbslocal.com...

Ya, and apparently SWAT was under the impression that shots had been fired. Its not unheard of for parents to harm their child during stressful times.

Maybe, I don't know.

I think so too. Rather, it should be focused on whether or not CPS had any right to take the child in the first place. They really didn't and THAT is alarming since they tried to any way. CPS needs to be investigated to find out if any other children were unjustly taken and those who ordered it punished.

That coupled with the barricading the daughter in the house might be able to justify their presence.

I have seen similar situations such as this in which the children end up dead(Powell).

I have an ADD daughter - - diagnosed way back in 1973. I was one of the lucky ones who had an amazing pediatrician who believed in limited drugs.

I have a hyper-active grandson (who is now 18) which we (family) refused to allow the school to put him on drugs.

I now have a possible very high functioning borderline Asperger's grandson - - that we will have to make decisions about.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just saying - - - my posts are not ignorant to the parent/child situation. But there really is more to consider.
