This member was banned for the attempt to hoax ATS members and reads. The "skull" is available at several novelty retailers.

Hi all

Having recently moved into a new house i have begun landscaping the garden. this morning i unearthed a weird looking skull. Wanted to get ATS views before i consider sending it off for examination. It wasnt buried very deep so i dont see how it can have been there that long, but then nobody has lived here for about 25 years, and the house is pretty remote.

as a natural skeptic, im inclined to believe its a fake of some description, but it just seems to heavy and real to me...anyhow heres a chronological series of photos from when i found it...

Maybe you should call the police.

My first idea would be to take the skull and pictures to a veterinarian for an ID.

I have found some really super special stuff (2 different occassions) in gardening. Gardening is almost a multi-discipline task sometimes ... figuring out the history of old artifacts we find.

Explanation: S&F!

Whoaaah!

Astounding amazing find! Congratulations!

Personal Disclosure: Is the lower mandible/jaw fully attached or does it articulate/move?

If yes ... then its credibility factor increases MEGAFOLD!

Please get it tested ... ATS radio host and supermoderator Semperfortis is the person on ATS to contact for such things.

Also ... be prepared for MIB etc. as you have just posted this online and TPTB will have been alerted if this is anything worth covering up!

Goodluck!

edit on 28-7-2012 by OmegaLogos because: Edited to convert attacked into attached. I apologise for my fruedian slip as I was thinking about mib. :shk: My Bad. Sorry.

Why wouldnt there be? If I came across a bone coloured item in the back yard, I'd be sure as heck taking pictures of the unearthing, especially if it ends up being something like this, and I end up reporting it and it gets taken "for evidence". If it ends up being nothing, then all I have is some pics that I need to delete. No big deal.

Kudos OP.

i would be able to tell if it were ceramic/plastic.. its way to heavy, it feels sort of fragile too, dont want to move it around too much

its a ceramic skull you can get at a novelty shop!!!!
look for a hole in the back where you can put a tea candle inside to make it look 'real' spooky!!!
i have dozens of these around my house.
nice gag though!
a little amateurish!
