Notice in the news story video about the spill describing the "chemical" as being CORROSIVE! Do we really need it be drinking this? Showering in it? Why can't people just see this toxic waste!!

Another interesting link.

The CDC was asked if more fluoride than the adequate amount was beneficial. CDC director Frieden wrote "We are unaware of data that directly answers your questions about the additional protection from tooth decay that could result from greater daily fluoride intake by infants, 0-6 months of age." In other words, there is no scientific evidence that dosing babies with lots of fluoride has any benefit at all.

...

Health care providers should recommend the use of non-fluoridated water to prepare powdered infant formula. But that recommendation is seldom made in the U.S. In 2006 the CDC and American Dental Association (ADA) finally admitted what dental research studies had been saying for many years - that infant formula prepared with fluoridated water increased the risk of fluorosis. But they were reluctant to actually inform parents about this risk to infants because it cast doubt on water fluoridation. They were afraid that people would stop drinking fluoridated water and oppose effort to start fluoridation in their communities. So in 2006 the only thing the CDC and ADA did was publish web pages about the risk and since then the ADA has opposed further efforts to inform parents.

"Fluorosis is an increasingly common developmental disturbance that affects infants. However, the reputation of water fluoridation has been deemed more important than the health of infants."

Wow, just wow. Wonder who's pocket the ADA is in? This stinks from all angles. Why can't people see this for what it is?

Fluorine is an element. It is a gas, never occurring in its free state. In microscopic amounts complexed with other minerals, it is often listed as a trace mineral, a nutrient for human nutrition. This has nothing to do with fluoride or fluoridation. The fluoride added to 90% of drinking water is hydrofluoric acid which is a compound of fluorine that is a chemical byproduct of aluminum, steel, cement, phosphate, and nuclear weapons manufacturing.

Such fluoride is manmade. In this form, fluoride has no nutrient value whatsoever. It is one of the most caustic of industrial chemicals. Fluoride is the active toxin in rat poisons and cockroach powder. Hydrofluoric acid is used to refine high octane gasoline, to make fluorocarbons and chlorofluorocarbons for freezers and air conditioners, and to manufacture computer screens, fluorescent light bulbs, semiconductors, plastics, herbicides, -- and toothpaste. It also has the ability to burn flesh to the bone, destroy eyes, and sear lungs so that victims drown in their own body fluid."

Once in the body, fluoride is a destroyer of human enzymes. It does this by changing their shapes. In human biochemistry, thousands of enzymes are necessary for various essential cell reactions that take place every second we're alive. Without enzymes, we'd die instantaneously. Enzymes trigger specific reactions in the body. One way they do this is by having the exact shape necessary, like a key in a lock.

Fluoride Changes The Shape Of The Enzymes So That They No Longer Fit.

Since enzymes are proteins, once they've been changed, they're now foreign-looking. The body now treats them as invaders, even though they're part of that body. This is known as an autoimmune situation - the body attacks itself. Another way to look at it: enzymes are long-chain proteins held in certain shapes. Hydrogen bonds are the velcro strips that hold the enzyme in a certain shape. Fluoride comes along and hydrolyzes the enzyme: cuts the Velcro strips away. The shape collapses. No more enzyme; now just a foreign protein.

..and by the way, to those saying "well it only says high levels of fluoride", fluoride is in EVERYTHING you eat and drink unless the drink went through a reverse osmosis filter. I drink such water exclusively and stopped using fluoride toothpaste years ago.

The "measurements" are only for *drinking* the water. It does not take into account that it's in food, orange juice, chocolate milk, crackers, cookies, pretty much anything you eat or drink has fluoride in it. PLUS it is easily absorbed through the skin, so you take in massive amounts from showering or bathing. Please, we are being poisoned on this stuff. NO ONE takes in only "low doses" of this stuff. It's impossible to do so, pretty much. One can only limit exposure as much as humanly possible.

...AND it's in toothpaste and mouthwash, which both have poison control warnings for swallowing because fluoride is a POISON! This topic makes me so mad, people just want to make excuses about why we should keep doing this. Open your eyes a little. My god, people. This is toxic waste, it's medicine being forced down our throats without our consent and people think it's ok? Get real, you wan fluoride, put it in your water yourself. Use the toothpaste and mouthwash, do not force it on everyone in the entire F'n country. Isn't it bad enough that there's prescription drugs in the water supply? Do we need to be dumping toxic waste in too? FFS people.......

Here is a recent documentary called "An Inconvenient Tooth" that is about fluoride. It's quite long, but worth the watch.
