God Save The Queen

Why?

What about the rest of us?

For those who don't know what i'm talking about, its the title of the British Anthem which is sung at all Sports where Great Britain or England play in major Tournaments...

I want to know if when people sing this do they send out all their positive energy towards the Royal Family?

What about the rest of us? Nevermind about 'God' saving the Queen.

I think you know what i'm trying to say here... the English sing this every 2 or 4 years depending on the Tournament... may even be more than that....

Who here really gives two hoots about the Royals?

I dunno... being an American my ancestors used their guns to kick the British monarchy out of our daily lives...

Its from the past when people thought the Kings/Queens were given a divine right to rule and some of them actually did well by their people, and they certainly did want those to live longer because they also had some malevolent rulers. Those would want to live long themselves and the people would wish it upon them for fear of what would happen if they did not.

Rule by birth right has never struck me as sane in any way shape or form...

But if the genealogies are to be believed of the presidents of the us, they mostly descend from monarchies...

raises a bit of a question.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of people who still believe the same today, given the jubilee celebrations and constant fawning over the Royal Family.

Check a little deeper in history and the power the queen still holds on the US. We are beind tought one thing when the truth is oh so different.

these days we know what they are....tourists money sucking devices so we allow them to do their stuff since it makes more money than it costs

technically the monarchy has power but its been so long since they've used any of it that its pretty much been lost

Its our national anthem!
For a country steeped in history and tradition.
And why shouldn't we ask a higher power to look after our head of state??!!

Being Canadian,I am proud the British helped us go down there and do something you guys can't seem to do yourselves....we burned the Whitehouse down.


I hate the royal family though.

This is why we kicked them the hell out but they seem to be coming back...

How many US Presidents have been involved in some sort of scandal or another?

What scandal has Queen Elizabeth II been involved in?

I know which one i would prefer.

They get money and do nothing for it but think they are more important than us while thinking their blood and bloodlines should be worshiped by all.

Princess Charles even called US PEOPLE useless eaters.
If thats not the pot calling the kettle black,I don't know what is.
They do nothing but photo ops....geez what a contribution to society.
