I did a search on ATS and didn't find this topic already posted. I just found this on Yahoo News and I thought it was quite interesting. There's been a strange and sudden massive melt in Greenland. I couldn't think of where to put this thread so I just stuck it in 2012 because of this freak occurance. Forgive me if it's the wrong place, MODs feel free to move it where ever it belongs.

We all know that it seems to be getting hotter then usual on our planet. I've seen countless of people mentioning and creating threads based on the heat alone. Maybe it's the mentality for being in the year 2012, who knows? But what really stands out is the fact this sudden massive melt in Greenland. This happening in 2012, and this whole time for awhile now people have been complaining about the head...I mean come on it's got to mean something.

I hope you all enjoy this. I'm interested to see what all of you have to say about this.

July 8 July 12

These undated handout images provided by NASA shows the extent of surface melt over Greenland’s ice sheet on July 8, left, and July 12, right. Measurements from three satellites showed that on July 8, about 40 percent of the ice sheet had undergone thawing at or near the surface. In just a few days, the melting had dramatically accelerated and an estimated 97 percent of the ice sheet surface had thawed by July 12.

In this July 19, 2011 file photo, a large melt pool forms in the Ilulissat ice fjord below the Jakobshavn Glacier, at the fringe of the vast Greenland ice sheet.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nearly all of Greenland's massive ice sheet suddenly started melting a bit this month, a freak event that surprised scientists.

Even Greenland's coldest and highest place, Summit station, showed melting. Ice core records show that last happened in 1889 and occurs about once every 150 years.

Three satellites show what NASA calls unprecedented melting of the ice sheet that blankets the island, starting on July 8 and lasting four days. Most of the thick ice remains. While some ice usually melts during the summer, what was unusual was that the melting happened in a flash and over a widespread area.

"You literally had this wave of warm air wash over the Greenland ice sheet and melt it," NASA ice scientist Tom Wagner said Tuesday.

The ice melt area went from 40 percent of the ice sheet to 97 percent in four days, according to NASA. Until now, the most extensive melt seen by satellites in the past three decades was about 55 percent

Sunflares combined with hole in the ozone layer? That's the first thought that comes to my mind.

Sudden it may be, strange however? I don’t think so……..

It’s a naturally occurring earth change…… & not attributed to man’s pseudo climate change pointless endeavours.

You guys realize Edgar Cayce mention this as one of the BIG signs of destruction of the coasts and absolute chaos. I believe in the prophecy it said something about before the year is out, and europe changing in the twinkling of a eye.
