I am wondering if anyone else has had or remember having a similar experience I did as a young child.Or if anyone has constructive input or theories as to what I had experienced. I have searched high and low on the internet over the years and found nothing. So, here goes.

From about as young as I can remember (around 2 or 3 years of age...at 3 I remember my first dream) I would be in bed at night going to sleep and when I closed my eyes, I would see "stars", like, a black field with white/silver little dots. These stars would move fast, or, more like, I *felt* like I was moving fast/flying through them. An example if you will would be that star screensaver on ye olde Windows 3.1 only we didn't have 3.1 until the early 90s.

I would eventually home in on one of these stars that would grow brighter and the black would disappear and there would be white light and then I would start dreaming a dream.

I remember it was easier to fall asleep this way, but gradually as I got older it stopped. Around 9 years of age when my body started changing.

Thoughts? Comments?

Have you ever experienced lucid dreaming?

I had the same starry dream as a kid. It was one of three recurring dreams I had.
Another one was me in a massive bamboo forest and I would spend my time walking on a high suspended walkway running from and towards unknown things.
Lucid dreaming is something I have just become aware of and battle to control or try. It just happens sometimes and I'm like "hey I'm in control here"

Uhm doesn´t that happen to everyone? I mean not even children only.

I would have seen this as completely normal.

Close your eyes right now in a dark room, and maybe apply some light pressure. You´ll see exactly what you are describing.

Trust me, that isn't what I am trying to describe.

Yes, I experience lucid dreaming too, Athalon.

I was about the same age: three or four years old.
My room was dark.
I was in bed, terrified of what the night would bring - this time.
Points of light.
Yellow. Green. Red. Blue.
Flying. Swirling around.
Penetrating through walls, bed, pillow...me.
Suddenly...
I felt...safe.
Awe.
Night after night. Every night.
It all ended when the lights formed a sentence in mid air.
Suspended in front of me.
Saying something.
I knew it was important what they were trying to communicate.
Unfortunately....I was too young.
I didn't know how to read.
It has always bothered me.

I always have found it curious how many people claim to have had the same / extremely similar dreams from a young age. And how people seem naturally afraid of similar things. Really makes you wonder.

Interesting.

I remember cosmic dreams as a kid from ages 5 to about 11. One was so realistic I could feel motion of moving. I was dreaming of moving across a star system going from planet to planet and could actually feel like I was moving very fast. I still remember that dream vividly.

I also used to try to draw and color planets I had seen in my dreams.

Strange how it just all kinda goes away as we age.
