I actually find this thread a good indication of just how crap the search function is.

The OP used the search function to search this very thread, and only later saw it was here already.

Agreed, even using the search and the firehose pages you can still get tripped up by posting a duplicate thread. Has happened to me before also. I can still get tripped up and post a duplicate thread unintentionally. Guess it happens to the best of us.

Google searches do a very good job of leading to ATS threads. I think it works better than the in house search function.
