No, the point Obama is making is that we are reliant on Government, that Government is providing these goods and services. It's a blatant lie, I provide it with my tax dollars, I pay for what I use, just like you do. I don't need Obama's handouts to live, because his handouts come out of my bank account.

He doesn't need to do damage control because rational people understand what he was saying even taken out of context. The only people any damage control ad could hope to reach are people like you and honestly reaching the willfully braindead is more effort than it is worth.

Still not getting it. Government IS OUR tax dollars...WE hire and employ government...and Pres. Obama stated exactly what his point was immediately after that out of context qoute was contorted and molested to mean something different..

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.

To keep pretending he meant something else is a lie...you are entitled to an opinion, but honest men subjagate opinion to facts, not ignore them. Flat earth..Pres. Obama clearly stated "what the point is"...for the love of God he said exactly that.

If you actually listen to what Obama is saying in context he isn't saying that people didn't build their own businesses, he's saying they didn't do it without help from government built infrastructure, teachers, family, friends, inspiration, etc.

The idea that someone can call this a gaffe is amazing.

There are real issues, substantive discussions to be had. It seems the media, and by extension the public at large, is content with sitting idly by nit-picking every word Romney and Obama say, reading to deeply into most of it, and purposefully misconstruing some of it to suit their empty political purposes.
