Just simply admit that you can't get the kind of woman you lust after and have to pay for it. That's all.

I use the word "respectable" because I don't have any respect for men who pay for sex. I will bend the rules for certain circumstances, but I don't want to derail this thread. Many men have admitted to me that they've gotten prostitutes. It doesn't mean that I hold these men in high regard. I think they just need to lower their standards.

The latter of your post is why I don't date and have made the decision along time ago that I never want a girlfriend again.
I am not waiting to find someone...I love being single.
Since i deal with people all day,when I come home,I want quiet...not a wife or girlfriend.

The last girlfriend lasted a week....the one before that lasted 2 weeks and that was probably about 7 years ago since my last one.
I don't have the patience so I choose to stay single.

I am glad things worked out for you and you are happy.
Different strokes for different folks I guess.

but think that anyone who takes an honest view of it can see it leads to a degeneration of society over time. I would agree that ultimately the problem lies in the mind, but also see that the solution lies in the laws which disincentives the acts from occurring.

The US has more than a 50% divorce rate, and children of single parents are at epidemic proportions. The Child Support entity of the government distributes billions of dollars just in my state alone. Drug problems, and degeneration of society are already at all-time highs, yet drugs and prostitution are still illegal. I don't understand how we can blame them, or how legalizing them could possibly make it any worse.

On the flipside we have areas like the Netherlands where both things are legal, and yet their crime rates are significantly lower, and the little crime they do have usually comes from tourists acting crazy.

I believe the problem lies in restricting and over-regulating things, not in legalizing them.

Sex is a huge one for me, I love these threads, because I believe our expectations of sex in the western world are so out of whack with reality and nature that we have created a timebomb that eventually erupts into things like this Colorado shooting. If that kid had ready access to prostitution, instead of trying to use adultfriendfinder, or being frustrated by rejection at the college, then perhaps all that money spent on weapons and ammo could have instead went to a nice girl pursuing her PhD just like he was.

Very good reasons. You're happy with the way things are now in your life and that's your prerogative.

To give you a woman's perspective, I gave up on dating after I had two stalkers in two years time. I just don't need that in my life. I'm so happy that my friend and I finally admitted to each other how we felt about each other. The best advice I can give you is to get as many opposite sex friends as possible and hope that one of them ends up being your soulmate.
The best things in life are hidden and love shouldn't require work, stress, and turmoil. It will find you eventually.

Let me ask a question which was asked in another post maybe a year ago on the same subject. What if any of your children(if you have any) would aspire to join this legalized industry as they're growing up through their high school/college years? Would it be ok with you?

My personal opinion of the matter is irrelevant.

If my daughter wanted to be a sex worker because it's what she wanted to do, I would of course object because IMO she has more going for her ( being in law school right now) but I would not shun her or love her any less because of it.

Certainly not until they were of legal age to make such decisions in any case, but after 19? You're an adult, live your life and live with the consequences. I'm here for support, not to run your life.

My wife of 6 years and mother of 2 beautiful boys has her first video release party this Friday night! She is in a country music video in her little tight jeans, and exposed midriff and a cowboy hat dancing about.

My 4 year old son made the video too! He is there in his mohawk and sleeveless shirt, and fake tattoo poking a fire with a stick.

I'm not denying that the need for sex isn't part of the fuel for prostitution. In fact that alone is a very good reason for it. I'm just saying it has nothing to do with being respectable or not. Plenty of respectable men still appreciate a "pro" once in awhile.

If I didn't have respect for myself and for women,I would use them and discard them like they didn't matter...but I don't.
I am honest about things and if they can't deal with it than they can move on and find a boyfriend if thats what they are looking for.
It takes a different kind of girl to just want sex with no strings attached and i have learned that some will lie about their intentions if they like you enough.
They will hope that you will come around if they wait long enough....I don't have time for games.

At first glance, I would be appalled by the notion too, but I have lawyers that work for me making less than $30k per year. If the law career was subpar, and she found that she was empowered and enjoyed the sex business and could make much more money working less hours, then I would have to agree with her intelligent decision-making.

My neighboors daughter stripped during the summer and paid 8 years of university doing 3 months of work.

That's over 100K in 8 years for 3 months a year.

Now she's a resident doctor with 0 debt.

IMO she made a smart decision. Besides there are plenty of "gentlman's clubs" that if you walked in there you'd be hard pressed to call it a "strip joint".

I get where you're coming from and I'm sorry if I offended you. You want to keep it simple and call on them when necessary, which is fine if that's what you want now. I just wish I knew why women have an easier time holding out (not that it's easy for us!), but men are just an entirely different animal when it comes to sex. It's good that you don't want to hurt a girl who you know you don't want anything more with.

As far as men I've known that have admitted paying for sex, most of them have been the dirty, nasty types who have admitted having a less than admirable veiw of women anyways. One man I knew who admitted getting prostitutes had been in an accident which resulted in some physical issues, so finding a woman who was honestly interested in him sexually was quite difficult for him.

As a heterosexual woman, I would never pay for sex from a man. If my boyfriend asked me to have a threesome with another man or woman, I'd reply with a resounding no and start re-evaluating our relationship. I'm experimental and certainly not prudish, but that's just not on my bucket list. That's just nothing I care to partake in. I'd have to come to the conclusion that I'm just not enough to satisfy this person and let them free to find someone who would fulfill their fantasies.

You make it sound very lucrative. Better yet why not promote this as a solution to all the college grads who are still paying off their loans. Better yet why not propose a pyramid scheme on this profession where you can be a member of the club and offer services and collect commission on every new recruit that joins the chain marketing (similar to AMWAY). It will certainly provide jobs to many unemployed in the nation. What do you think?

The vast majority of the people who actually have their orifices penetrated for someone's profit are the underclass. They are often not legal citizens where they work, and sometimes don't even speak the language of their "host" country. They are often young, uneducated, penniless and starving; with no real alternatives.

Of course legalization has its libertarian advocates, like John Stossel: a Princeton-educated, emmy award-winning journalist from a prominent Jewish family of Chicago. No one is ever going to force him to do anything intimate against his will---he has all the money and power of a 1%-er.

Compare that with a typical prostitute: teenager, hispanic female, (illegal) immigrant, living on the street with no relatives, education, or job skills or savings account, and a limited ability to speak English. Beaten regularly to extract any "tip" given her by her Johns, and beaten again if she becomes to ill to pull a train on a given work-night.

The "haves" in our society are all in favor of legalizing prostitution. The ugly old white men in the 1% want their sex-on-demand.

The poor children who have to lovingly caress in order to pay for supper won't even be consulted, when their "relationship" with the pimp becomes officially sanctioned policy.

Wow are you convoluted.

Most sex workers are independent now, no pimp, no pusher, they hook themselves on sites like craigslist or backpage.. they do it because they choose to, not because they are forced into it.

If you made prostitution legal, there would be a safe and legal way to suit johns, pulling them away from the black market of sex trade, thus reducing the amount of prostitution by force and increasing the amount of prostitution by choice.

This would literally destroy pimps and pushers... period.

To me, stripping is a no-brainer! I've tried to talk my wife into it! All that money manipulating drooling men, and you don't even have to do anything for it. In fact, she loves to dance anyway, why not get paid for it.

Pretty much the same concept with porn, except I don't think porn pays as well overall as stripping or prostitution. You do a lot more stuff, for a single lump sum of money, and the movie makers reap all the profits. Now porn does supplement the stripping career very well, because you become a featured dancer, and that gets you the best stripping gigs.

Now prostitution is a little different, and I'd have to be 100% sure the person involved was really doing it because they truly wanted to, and they'd have to know how it would affect outside relationships and such, but if their thought process was mature and thorough, then I wouldn't blame them one bit.

There's no point in doing that, I'm retired and the people who run these strip joints are making big money, they advertise for college students cause they work hard, don't stay anymore than 3 months usually and they don't have to worry about them being on drugs or providing "services" on the side to their clientele.

Sounds GREAT! Although, it is easy to oversaturate a market and devalue your product, and when your product is your body, then you certainly do not want to devalue it.

For the record, Magic Mike is doing VERY WELL at the theatres! This is NOT something strictly confined to men.

I think there is one group even more in favor of legalizing prostitution. I am talking about prostitutes themselves.

When it comes to two consenting adults, other people and government should keep out. Prostitution should be legal.
