That may take days for some, it may take years for others, it may even take lifetimes yet for others. But I am pretty sure that when its all said and done, and the smoke clears all will be reveled that the world is exactly the way it is because that is how people want it.

Which people?

The unwittingly oppressed?

I don't think so.

I see sex as something sacred and spiritual, there is nothing more beautiful then sex between two people deeply in love,
wham bam thank you ma'am seems selfish, and I feel sorry for a man that has only this experience.

Agree. Just imagine as is while it is illegal, it is generally a paid activity (not love making but For Unbecoming Carnal Knowledge - generally used as a 4 letter profanity
) without any emotions or love involved, after it is legalized, surely it will be even more commercially available at which point it could become comparable to 'jiffy lube' or 'quick lube' ...the 10 minute oil change franchises
person pulls in and out of the prostitution franchise during lunch break or on his/her way back home or to work

Loving it!! I think that is a great idea. In fact, I was talking to a very attractive young woman about 3 weeks ago, and she was complaining that too many of her "customers" don't want to pay for a full hour, they only want 15 minutes, LOL! (In our defense, this is a college town, budgets are tight and endurance is short.)

Didn't Bill Clinton have a similar set up? 15 minutes before an important meeting, grab the nearest willing intern, and get your mind right. Personally, I think Lewinski deserves a Congressional Medal of Honor for her services to the country. Imagine how much better Slick Willy negotiated in those high-level meetings without the distraction of hormonal interference and sexual frustration.

Which people?

Each and everyone of us to our certain extents.

The unwittingly oppressed?

The unwittingly oppressed, even the unwillingly oppressed, and even the wittingly and willingly oppressed as well. They sort of fall and trap themselves over and over into the same old pits.

After all between the two species, and in most species even if you looked to other species on this planet you will see that it is the female that likes to keep her options open and has both been preconditioned by not only society, to breed, but also by nature for millions of years if not billions to spreed that seed on at all costs.
True. It is the female species that accepts the suitors after the males have battled it out and proved their worthiness to successfully copulate and pass on the strongest gene to ensure the survivability...atleast in the wild which includes insects, mammals, amphibians, birds etc. Surely there might be isolated cases and/or species where promiscuity is common including inbreeding. Bonobos are known for their promiscuity. Unfortunately we do not envision from this perspective but more so from 'security' which unfortunately in most societies is soley based around 'power & money'. Thus the receiver and the provider do not seem to mind upto certain extent if its legal or illegal. Personally I'm against the profession and the practice of prostitution but thats just me. Ofcourse it can be abolished in a ideal world just the way slavery was
However would be interesting to see what the future political powers bring to the table not just in US but around the world. I have 2 toddlers and at times it scares the crap outta me wondering about their future but for now, things have been good.

Loving it!!

go for it
You might be recognized in the future as the pioneer of the 'quick lube' industry
I can only imagine the scene...similar to a commercial milk farm where hundreds of cows are standing on a conveyer getting milked
And after the phad wears out, there will be quest for 'organic' service providers

Really bro I think its obvious that for some they would like that lifestyle, both men and women. And if fact there would be and will in all probability be more women then men who are attracted to that, and as we go through more veils and the shift picks up. A lot more then this will fall or be spun around on its head completely and be revealed for what it is, so don't go all crazy over nothing. It was always like this to an extent, peoples eyes were just blinded to this and a whole lot of other things.

And like I said, its pretty dam obvious, not even hidden. People just see, what they want to see.

You seem to be confusing a misplaced sense of "enlightenment" with complacency and perhaps even apathy.

I realize that works for some people, but I know better.

The world is constantly changing. Holding your view is both nonsensical, and defeatist.

Like i said, the world is exactly the way it is for a reason. And ya, women are not all helpless as that or pretty much anything you have been lead to believe, and yes they do choose who they copulate with and all of that and everything in between more often then not. As there are exceptions to everything, but the majority do chose and do go for what they want like a heat seeking missile, the way they do it however is not so straight forward as males. So ya! it is what it is. And nobody was born into this world by magic now were they.

There are a lot of lies going around masquerading as the truth. But once it put to the test or the light shines on it, they all fail. Do you know why? Because lies can not stand up by themselves. They need to be propped up.

However would be interesting to see what the future political powers bring to the table not just in US but around the world. I have 2 toddlers and at times it scares the crap outta me wondering about their future but for now, things have been good.

I would not count on an external source to change anything that you yourself can not change. In fact even all the politics and government in the world. There only power is to get people to change things for themselves, and pay a heavy tax while doing it.
And the future, depending on how far forward you go is really out of this world me thinks. This would be the least of worries if you go far enough, in some scenarios there is not such a thing as males and females. But you know, things come things go, things stay, things change, and the more things change the more things stay the same.

I think the term "objectify" has a negative connotation that it doesn't necessarily need though. Men are also objectified, and so are bosses, and parents, and siblings. We see each other in lots of different capacities and environments throughout the day and the lifetime.
Agree however one has to put aside the negative elements and adopt the postive elements from the society and/or personal experiences. Sure we see and observe a lot doesn't mean we have to live it where it turns into a chain reaction of some sorts. In other words, you noticed how men are objectified as well including yourself. Does this mean you will repeat the same process on someone else? This is where the philosophical and psychological aspects play important role. Many attempt to beat fire with fire or cut metal with metal and many stand strong knowing their strengths to face away the storms keeping their prime objective in front regardless of what others are doing. I'm very well aware that it is easy to swim with the flow then to swim against.

Although I suppose technically it is objectifying a woman to only want one specific thing from her body and nothing else, it doesn't have to be a negative thing if she also wants the same thing in return, and neither party is looking for anything beyond the physical.
And thats how it starts and gets out of hand. Placing a monitory value on something beautiful and turning it into a transaction based service
Precisely how the sporting spirit is lost in many 'professional' sports in comparison to most high school or collegiate sports
Playing the sport for money vs playing for its true sporting spirit. Eating a freshly cooked meal vs a fast food run

I like your sports analogy, and it is something to consider.

BUT (always has to be a but)

There are still professional athletes that can play the sport for money, and still enjoy it with the awe of a child, and still make wonderful business decisions that benefit them for generations. While some athletes are used up and discarded and left with nothing, others are able to maintain long careers and transition to careers outside of sports, and enjoy every minute of their "job."

I gave the examples of some porn stars that have had similar successes in building entrepreneurial empires!

Why couldn't that happen in prostitution as well?

Should we outlaw the money aspect of sports, because athletes are objectified, and lose the thrill of the game, and are often discarded, emotionally, mentally, and physically scarred in a short 5 or 10 year career, with no bankroll to show for it?

If prostitution were legal like sports are, I would expect similar numbers of desperate inner-city folks would turn to it, some would be used up and discarded, while others would pull themselves up out of the bad influences and become hall of famers.

I think your analogy is wonderful, but does that mean we legalize prostitution, or illegalize professional sports?

Nobody is claiming that they are helpless. When you refer to the majority, I'm assuming you're referring to a specific country or geographical region ?

Yep..I'm well aware and often times things circles back around to me to make the decisions in life

I'm extrapolating based on what you said.

Stating that the world is at it is because we collectively want it this way is both false, and terribly misleading.

There is a power hierarchy in place that prevents the will of the majority from being realized.

You are naively implying that we equally play a part in how the world is shaped.

I'd love if this were the case, but it's not.

Believing along the lines you present opens up the doorway to complacency, which inevitably leads to apathy.

Not sure what I assumed, though.

Well....nothing can be stopped thats for sure. But you can certainly learn a thing or two from it...including the purpose of it..atleast when it comes to sports.

At least that evil Mary Jane is still going to be illegal.

Now you know our first black president cannot possibly be a fan of keeping this illegal either.
It has to be on the secret agenda for term 2.

Please...

Its the membership dues that the country pays to be part of it
No need to vote
Sorta like the 'gentleman's club' or 'swingers club' where you pay a membership and you can screw around with others for a price or pay someone to screw someone

Hope you are all well....I have really been thinking alot about this thread today...and so far I have approached this conversation as a Mom...and I stand by that....but there is also a deeper issue that is "unresolved" for me...and with all respect and honesty I am am asking the Men to help me work this out......

There seems to be a "market" for young beautiful "kids"...and as I said before, an 18 year old is not able to truely "consent"....and I would actually take that age up to 25 yrs......many studies show kids brains are still developing up until age 25 yrs.......but reguardless of that, many Men are attracted to young girls, and it is obvious why, sweet, innocent, sexy, etc.......It is bizzare to me, but it is just too much a reality to deny.

I guess the thing I need to get off my chest......is starting from age 12, how many men, uncles, friends fathers ( God that is awful, 4 different friends Dad's) , co-workers( in a "professional" workplace) Friend's husband's, OMG, groped, cornered, grabed, and basically made it clear they wanted sex with me....and here's the crazy part, I never told anyone, when I was a kid, I knew my Dad would go kick those men's ass's, and it would hurt my friends, so I stayed silent, I knew if I told my friend her world would crash....I just pretended it didn't happen, I played dumb, and "escaped" the situation.....

I didn't bring this on, I am the girl next door type, cute, yeah, but I was never overtly sexual...and some man, my friends Dad, cupping my breast at 13 years old, and telling me, "yeah your a B cup" will haunt me forever...I jumped away, it made my friend cry, and I never went back there, I later heard that bastard molested her...

Anyways I guess the point I want to make is that even when I was "exploted" by Men that I should have been able to trust, I hid it from my Dad, cause he would have killed them......and I had a happy childhood overall....I was loved......but I was unable to cope with the reality of the situation, so how the hell is some poor kid that get's sucked into this whole "mess', supposed to ask for help, when I couldn't even tell my parents that grown men in our neighborhood were hitting on me? I never did anything with any of these men, but I somehow felt ashamed?
