You are missing the point and I can't go on all day.
Just as women marched and formed groups, and blacks marched in protest and spoke out, gay people do the same thing in their own way. You are making way too big of a deal out of gay parades. Irish people have parades too. Who cares?
Seriously? It's in no way counter productive.

They goof off for an hour and walk down the street then they go back to their normal boring lives.

Hey.. what's that supposed to mean. If/when I decide to have kids they will be raised completely unprejudiced and I won't be forcing them to be anyone that isn't themselves.

LOL it was supposed to be a joke.

I assumed. My "hey.. what's that supposed to mean" was only half sincere. That's why I went with the cliche.

I don't see you complaining about guys who kiss their girlfriends in public. A little biased, are we?

I said I'm NOT talking about showing public affection, granted I do think the idea of two men kissing is disgusting but hey whatever they want to do that's on them. I'm talking about the attitude and mentality of "Here I am, I'm gay and proud look at me." Flaunting your sexual orientation in public with loud and obnoxious attitude is what annoys me.

Can you give a specific example of what you are talking about? Are you talking only about gay pride parades? I have been friends with gays for 25 years. I live in a fairly large city (and a pretty liberal one at that). I am 52 years old, and I have traveled a fair amount. I have never even seen a gay pride parade, so I don't think gay parades are shoved down our throats everyday. What ARE you talking about, exactly?

Logical fallacy: Just because being "gay" is natural, doesn't mean that being "straight" isn't. So no, it doesn't meant that you are "abnormal".

Straights are the majority and they were never prosecuted just for being straight so why would they need pride? Where were the challenges just for being straight? There were none. Straight have killed gays. It is fair that gays can at least get equal rights and have a day to be positive and love themselves after all of that.

So if my lady and I were in a room of gays, we would be the minority and should be able to make a big deal out of it and expect the gays in the room make make extra allowances for us.... Go to a full on gay bar and see where snogging your woman at the bar gets you.

Like if I was born in Africa it would therefore be impossible for me to be racist to black people as they are the majority (by quite some margin I might add) and therefore only I would need protecting from racism with 'white only support groups'......

Riiiiight.... So clear now.......

I might remind you that humans are physically designed to mate with those of the opposite sex, not the same sex. This is why males have male genitalia and females have female genitalia. So no, homosexuality is not part of nature, it's a corruption of nature that everyone is trying to pass off as natural and normal. I consider it to be a socially-accepted mental illness.

All hail the designer/creator of the human race for they know whats natural and whats not.

A socially accepted mental illness, just as bigotry is a socially accepted mental illness, well actually bigotry is more of mental illness because that is how one thinks yet being Gay to me is a physical thing so im not sure about that actually being in a persons head as much as hating what a people do in the privacy of their own homes.

A mental illness is so called because a person does things which struggle to allow them to fit into society, like Tourette syndrome for example. This is where people use violent and abusive language without being able to stop it, google it for some great vids
This mental illness is not accepted by society even though almost every rap song which ever got in the top 100 is littered with such language.
If you are gay you have sex with members of the same sex for what you consider 'natural' (or if you are smart you admit it is not natural) pleasure. Society is changing via the powers that be so the next generation will consider gayness normal.
Why can't Tourette syndrome suffers be given the same equality...... Which is more 'normal'.... Using bad words innocently due to a mental illness or having full blown sexual intercourse with members of the same sex?

They are both as a result of the mind to a large degree, one is accepted or acceptance is being forced on us and the other is not accepted......

But I tell this..... If politics and Hollywood was littered with Tourette syndrome sufferers.... There would be a 'Tourette syndrome' agenda too.

I think it's counterproductive, if gay people want to be seen as equal and the same as everybody else, making a huge deal and celebration about how you're different and special because you're gay is the complete wrong way to go about it imo.

So...hide who you are? Okay, you're not allowed to even look at chicks (or guys) anymore. You cannot display a single facet of your sexuality. In fact, forget having a public personality period.

You might offend someone, and that would cost you your rights.

There's a difference between hiding and not flaunting and making a huge show of it. Riding down the street in floats wearing skimpy outfits making a huge deal of your sexual orientation does what exactly? Why be proud to be gay? You should take pride in your accomplishments and achievements not something that you have no control over.

Yes I have done that. It was at the Golden Lion in Walsall, England and we were told to stop it or leave.
The rest of your response is predictable rhetoric and doesn't bother me

Yeah - well - I live in Arizona.

Got a lot of Rush wannabe's that are loud and obnoxious in public.

Flamboyant? Depends on how you define that. Flashing their guns and machoism can be very flamboyant.

So you expect to kiss your woman at a gay bar, but gays can't kiss their lovers at a regular bar?

Wow, the equality is astonishing.

Woman and Blacks marched in protested for a cause, they didn't throw extravagant parades to rub their race or sex in men or white people's faces, that would have done them no good, just like it's doing gay people no good in their fight for equality.

Racism IS a part of our nature. People are naturally racist, the thing is we are reasoning beings and we can see how the more prevalent racism is ignorant and that all racism creates in a modern society is negativity. Just as we should let all races be equal because we have no control over our race, we should also let homosexuals be because they have no control over their sexuality.

Also many people are openly racist.. ever heard of the KKK? New Black Panthers? They are all ignorant, but they still have a right to their opinions.
edit on 24-7-2012 by GogoVicMorrow because: (no reason given)

Spot on Sir, Racism is a part of our nature as we all give these false labels to let each other know which country we were born in. And then fight wars because of invisible borders when in actuality we are just 1 race, the human race, this is my belief and until someone can logically show me why the colour of skin matters i'll keep believing in my 1 Race, the human race from the land we call earth.

You don't like gay pride parades because you don't like gays. Only a small segment of gays even participate in those parades. But you focus on the gay pride parades, because that's your best argument for forcing all gays back into the closet.

So let's take the macho rights away. That's what we're doing, right? If we don't like someone, we take away their rights. Even though that's unconstitutional and would be overthrown by the Supreme Court.

Not specifically Gay Pride parades, although they are part of it. I'm more talking about acting like a stereotypical flamboyant homosexual in public drawing attention to themselves and flaunting their sexual orientation.

Who said anything about taking people's rights away? I've said I have no problem with gays marring or having any of the same rights straight people do.
