The opening comment of this article has been standard JBS ideology since its inception, i.e. we face imminent doom.
Furthermore, if you go back to the 1920's and 1930's, the extreme right in our country has always predicted our imminent demise.
In a 4/4/61 speech at the Freedom Club in Los Angeles, JBS National Council member Tom Anderson declared that: “If we and the Communists keep on
doing the same things we’ve been doing, they’ll take us over by 1973. That’s their timetable and they’re on schedule.”
In his 1958 book, The Naked Communist, JBS-endorser, W. Cleon Skousen wrote:
“…Red leaders decided to set up a timetable of conquest for the entire world and then take it continent by continent.” Then on page 258 Skousen
wrote: “Considered overall, the Communist Timetable of Conquest is alarmingly close to being right on schedule.”
By contrast, J. Edgar Hoover wrote in March 1960 that:
“The Communist plan is to conquer the United States, if not today, then tomorrow; if not tomorrow, then the next day, next month, next year---there
is no timetable, no ‘Five Year Plan’. This is evident in the machinations of the CPUSA as shown by the analysis of its 17th National Convention
published in this Bulletin.”
FBI FILES ON BIRCH SOCIETY AND ITS ASSERTIONS:
This 197-page report explains why J. Edgar Hoover and senior FBI officials within the Bureau’s Domestic Intelligence Division concluded in FBI memos
that the JBS was “extremist”, “irrational” and “irresponsible”
