As a conspiracy angle , each and every ATS user ought to ask themselves as to why these killings are not being broadcasted on MSM .

They actually are burning people to death .

This is just plain Genocide .

Self immolation in protest. Buddist did it alot and i imagine some still do. Personally The Muslim people are critical of the US for butting into their affairs so why should the US or UN butt into the affairs of Burma or Myanmar? If they are concerned let them send troops to stop it. I also think the picture of the Monks in china helping gather bodies for proper burial needs to be removed since its being twisted as mass killings of muslims especially when those bodies are more than likely chinese.

You guys are always on our backs about interventionism, and imperialistic actions but now comes something that you WANT the UN to step in and stop and then piss and moan when they dont? If you want the world to leave you alone you do not get to complain when you get your wish. Oh and anything coming from Iran is suspect to begin with. Now if the International red cross was reporting it i might believe it.

Of those 160 million, which is actually more than 160 million, ABOUT 125 - 142 million have died due to socialism/communism.

In sum the communist probably have murdered something like 110,000,000, or near two-thirds of all those killed by all governments, quasi-governments, and guerrillas from 1900 to 1987. Of course, the world total itself it shocking. It is several times the 38,000,000 battle-dead that have been killed in all this century's international and domestic wars. Yet the probable number of murders by the Soviet Union alone--one communist country-- well surpasses this cost of war. And those murders of communist China almost equal it.
...

www.hawaii.edu...

And that's not counting the about 15 -32 million or so murdered by SOCIALISTS Hitler, and Mussolini.

By genocide, the murder of hostages, reprisal raids, forced labor, "euthanasia," starvation, exposure, medical experiments, and terror bombing, and in the concentration and death camps, the Nazis murdered from 15,003,000 to 31,595,000 people, most likely 20,946,000 men, women, handicapped, aged, sick, prisoners of war, forced laborers, camp inmates, critics, homosexuals, Jews, Slavs, Serbs, Germans, Czechs, Italians, Poles, French, Ukrainians, and many others. Among them 1,000,000 were children under eighteen years of age.1 And none of these monstrous figures even include civilian and military combat or war-deaths.
...

www.hawaii.edu...

Mussolini murdered about 430,000 or so people.

BTW, the way that Islam influenced Christianity was by early Muslims spreading Islam by the sword/a aka as the Muslim crusades which caused the Christian crusades as a response to the Muslim invasions in the 7th century AD.

Also, MANY early Christian nations, like Assyria, were hubs for science and knowledge CENTURIES before Muslims conquered these cities by force/war.

The Assyrian Christians founded the first University of the world in the 4th century, The School of Nisibis.

...
At first they concentrated on the religious works but then quickly moved to science, philosophy and medicine. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Galen, and many others were translated into Assyrian, and from Assyrian into Arabic. It is these Arabic translations which the Moors brought with them into Spain, and which the Spaniards translated into Latin and spread throughout Europe, thus igniting the European renaissance.

By the sixth century A.D., Assyrians had begun exporting back to Byzantia their own works on science, philosophy and medicine. In the field of medicine, the Bakhteesho Assyrian family produced nine generations of physicians, and founded the great medical school at Gundeshapur. Also in the area of medicine, Hunayn ibn-Ishaq*s textbook on ophthalmology, written in 950 A.D., remained the authoritative source on the subject until 1800 A.D.

In the area of philosophy, the Assyrian philosopher Job of Edessa developed a physical theory of the universe, in the Assyrian language, that rivaled Aristotle*s theory, and that sought to replace matter with forces.

One of the greatest Assyrian achievements of the fourth century was the founding of the first university in the world. The School of Nisibis had three departments: theology, philosophy and medicine, and became a magnet and center of intellectual development in the Middle East. The statutes of the School of Nisibis, which have been preserved, later became the model upon which the first Italian university was based.

When Arabs and Islam swept through the Middle East in 630 A.D., they encountered 600 years of Assyrian Christian civilization, with a rich heritage, a highly developed culture, and advanced learning institutions. It is this civilization which became the foundation of the Arab civilization.

At the end of the day

the world does not have to be stripped searched and fondled, have our privacy invaded and have our laws changed to accommodate Buddhists.

On the other hand Muslims have been doing this to each other and the world for a long time now.

I do not have any sympathy at all.

When middle eastern men accept females as their equal and treat them like they would themselves then I may start to offer the slightest bit of compassion.

Unfortunately, the Islamic cult has been a pain in the side of the innocent westerner for too long now.

What you all need to understand is there is NO god. So religion and its followers are simple minded people who believe without the need for proof.

Massacres like the one mentioned in this thread are common place in many islamic place - normally committed by Muslims.

Not many other religions believe in Stoning women, beating women who have been raped, cutting of a childs hand for stealing and lets not forget their favorite past-time, cutting the heads of innocent men live on TV.

I am your resident anti-religious spokes person with Islam particularly a hot topic.

I'm sorry but that is grossly liberal with the facts. The NSDAP were socialist in name only, Your post seems to be agenda ridden (considering your avatar as a starting point!) and simply disingenuous.

Please don't think I'm fighting for the corner of Socialism, I simply disagree with what you imply in your post.

You know, if comments in this thread can be taken as a microcosm of how the greater population feels, it paints a very bleak picture for the future with more of the same ongoing violence justified by nothing more than "they started it" or other childish death count comparisons.

It is simply disturbing, hypocritical and frustrating!

Although you are partially right you have to remember that ATHEISM has also been the cause of the murder of millions of people. In fact the socialism/communism of Lenin, Stalin, Mao, and other Chinese, Russian, and other socialists/communists has been an ATHEISTIC belief, in which religion had to be destroyed by any and all means, including the murder of millions of people.

The Spanish Red Terror/revolution in the 1930s, when socialists, communists and other leftists took control of Spain for a short while, most leftists, which included all socialist, and communists except the Basque, decided to murder people for being capitalists, and religious, to the point that they murdered also almost 7,000 Catholic clerics, and also burned and destroyed religious sites in a couple of months in the time that the leftists stood in power.

The total estimated of those murdered by the leftists in Spain is from 38,000 up to 72,344 people murdered in a couple of months.

The Red Terror in Spain (Spanish: Terror Rojo en España) is the name given by historians to various acts committed "by sections of nearly all the leftist groups" such as the killing of tens of thousands of people (including 6,832 members of the Catholic clergy, the vast majority in the summer of 1936 in the wake of the military rising), as well as attacks on landowners, industrialists, and politicians, and the desecration and burning of monasteries and churches. A process of political polarisation had characterised the Spanish Second Republic – party divisions became increasingly embittered and questions of religious identity came to assume a major political significance.

Some estimates of the Red Terror range from 38,000 to 72,344 lives.
...

Link

It was this murder of people, including Catholic clergy which assured the rise of Franco, and who decided to go after every leftist in Spain, including their sympathizers, many who were people who would point out to the leftists who was capitalist or religious, and helped in the massacre done by the leftists in a couple of months.

It wasn't in name only and other members and myself have proven this. The NAZIS, were SOCIALISTS, albeit they were national socialists which is why it is a different branch of socialism, but it is still socialism.

Every program implemented by Hitler and the NAZIS was leftist, just like the programs implemented by Mussolini.

Professor Silverman argues, as a result of impressive research in Nazi archives, that it was work creation programs that account for this "miracle" and it was the 4-year Plan announced in 1936 that represented an emphasis on autarky and arms and a seller's market. Plans called for motorization and the famous autobahns. It is natural to compare Hitler's achievements with FDR's New Deal. Strangely Silverman hardly mention the USSR as a source of ideas in the Hitler years, though the 4-year Plan itself was inspired by the Soviet FYP, the second of which was being completed by the time Goebbels began administering the German equivalent. Earlier (February,1935) Soviet-type "work books" necessary for employment were introduced.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hitler was named "Man of the Year" in 1938 by Time Magazine. They noted Hitler's anti-capitalistic economic policies:

"Most cruel joke of all, however, has been played by Hitler & Co. on those German capitalists and small businessmen who once backed National Socialism as a means of saving Germany's bourgeois economic structure from radicalism. The Nazi credo that the individual belongs to the state also applies to business. Some businesses have been confiscated outright, on other what amounts to a capital tax has been levied. Profits have been strictly controlled. Some idea of the increasing Governmental control and interference in business could be deduced from the fact that 80% of all building and 50% of all industrial orders in Germany originated last year with the Government. Hard-pressed for food- stuffs as well as funds, the Nazi regime has taken over large estates and in many instances collectivized agriculture, a procedure fundamentally similar to Russian Communism."

(Source: Time Magazine; Jaunuary 2, 1939.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hitler setup the Labour Front. Both employers and employees joined it. According to the National Labour Law of January 20, 1934, the state would exert direct influence and control over all business employing more than twenty persons. In other words, both employers and employees were put under the control of the government.

Notes on: "On the Theory of the Centrally Administered Economy: An Analysis of the German Experiment," by Walter Eucken

Walter Eucken was a professor of economics at the University of Freiburg, Germany and an architect of the economic reforms that led to the Economic Miracle. In this article Eucken wanted to explain the problems and weaknesses of centrally administered economies such as that of National Socialist (Nazi) Germany and the Soviet Union.

The Nazi economic system developed unintentionally. The initial objective in 1932-33 of its economic policy was just to reduce the high unemployment associated with the Great Depression. This involved public works, expansion of credit, easy monetary policy and manipulation of exchange rates. Generally Centrally Administered Economies (CAE's) have little trouble eliminating unemployment because they can create large public works projects and people are put to work regardless of whether or not their productivity exceeds their wage cost. Nazi Germany was successful in solving the unemployment problem, but after a few years the expansion of the money supply was threatening to create inflation.

The Nazi Government reacted to the threat of inflation by declaring a general price freeze in 1936. From that action the Nazi Government was driven to expand the role of the government in directing the economy and reducing the role played by market forces. Although private property was not nationalized, its use was more and more determined by the government rather than the owners.

About mussolini, even wikipedia, a leftwing source, states that his beliefs were socialist, and of course nationalistic.

Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini (Italian pronunciation: [beˈniːto musːoˈliːni]; 29 July 1883 – 28 April 1945) was an Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party, ruling the country from 1922 to his ousting in 1943, and is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of fascism.

Originally a member of the Italian Socialist Party and editor of the Avanti! from 1912 to 1914, Mussolini fought in World War I as an ardent nationalist and created the Fasci di Combattimento in 1919, catalyzing his nationalist and socialist beliefs in the Fascist Manifesto, published in 1921.

Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread. Although the main factor of why there are attrocities happening in Burma is the cause of the murders done, or condone by the state/government of Burma, which is a socialist/communist nation.

What, you didn't know that many of those murdered by Muslim radicals are Muslim moderates?...

You really don't know this?...

BTW, LEARN to quote people in context instead of taking out a part of their response just to fulfill whatever messed up agenda you have...

Here is MY REAL REASPONSE, which says something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT to what you are trying to claim I said...

If you don't understand English, it is not my problem... Muslim moderates are many of the people killed and murdered by Muslim extremists/radicals...

On July 22, the IRCS called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in a letter to condemn the mass slaughter of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and take prompt measures to stop violence against the community.

The letter also lamented the international community’s apathy towards the humanitarian catastrophe in Myanmar, stressing the need for global condemnation of genocide in the country.

The government of Myanmar refuses to recognize Rohingyas, who it claims are not natives and classifies them as illegal migrants. This comes as the Rohingya are said to be Muslim descendants of Persian, Turkish, Bengali, and Pathan origin, who migrated to Myanmar as early as the 8th century.

Myanmar’s President Thein Sein said on July 19 that the "only solution" to the plight of Rohingya Muslims is to send the country’s nearly one million Muslims -- which is one of the world’s most persecuted minorities -- to refugee camps run by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

However, the UN refugee agency has snubbed the idea of setting up refugee camps to accommodate the Rohingyas.

"We will send them away if any third country would accept them," Sein added. "This is what we are thinking is the solution to the issue."

Even Myanmar’s Western-sponsored democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi has kept silent on atrocities perpetrated against the Rohingya Muslims.
