Even if this hall of records exists, that doesn't necessarily mean its records will be accurate.

They might just be a bunch of fanciful make believe, like most religious creation stories.

And maybe not even texts. Maybe just cave drawings, rendered on metalic plates.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the elephant. Either a hoax or there was more contact/trade with other civilizations in pre-Colombian times than they let on and this artefact comes from elsewhere.
