1985 Mig 29

1987 Mig 29

Convair 106 Delta Dart Complete rebuild kit including airframes, engines, and electronics
I also found a completely built and operational Convair 106 for sale.

Two Russian planes and an American plane. The American plane was still in use until 1988. No it isn't current military production, but it could still be bought and used to create havoc.

Cobra Helicopter

Bell OH-58 Helicopter

Old designs that are still usable. It doesn't have to be ultra modern to create havoc. The AR-15 is a 50 year old design.

I already admitted above that you can get foreign military equipment, especially Russian vehicles. As long as there isn't an import ban on it. This thread was based on talking about US Military gear, not foreign stuff.

Multiple airframes means exactly what I stated above. They can only sell it if its been so badly damaged that the chassis is shot (AKA its been in a crash, had a serious structural failure, etc). This is not true military gear, its rebuilt using civilian parts to make it run. Again, these are no longer in use by the military.

Again it has to have been a rebuilt version of a no longer used military aircraft.

Cobra Helicopter

Rebuilt, decommissioned, Vietnam aircraft with demilled weapons, no longer used by military service:

N737HF HISTORY
An extensive and lengthy rebuild and restoration/upgrade of the aircraft was undertaken. As part of the restoration process, the aircraft’s power plant was upgraded to the more powerful T53-L-703 engine (1800 shp) that provides an additional 400 shp than the original Vietnam era engine, and mated with an upgraded B-212 power train system. The aircraft’s rotor system was upgraded to the Kaman ballistic main rotor blades providing a 10,000 hour useful life. The aircraft is a very fast Cobra!

This was a police helicopter:

FORMER LAW ENFORCEMENT PLATFORM IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

Its nothing more then the civilian version: Bell 206

Now show me where you can buy an active duty piece of actual US military equipment. A f-16, F-22, Bradley, Abrams, etc... There are very strict and complex rules regarding this stuff.

I never said you could buy brand new F-16s. I said you could buy decomissioned and surplus vehicles and aircraft. It doesn't have to be modern to be deadly. Also, with the number of aircraft mechanics, weapons specialists, machinists, and engineers in this country do you think it would be impossible to turn an old Cobra in to a functioning gun ship?

Do you think a 30 year old tank is any less dangerous than a semi-auto rifle in the wrong hands. I don't and I'm all for being able to own either. It isn't the tool it is the person that owns the tool.
